Republic Day is a public holiday in Türkiye commemorating the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye, on 29 October 1923.
Türkiye had de facto been a republic since 23 April 1920, the date of the establishment of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, but the official confirmation of this fact came three-and-a-half years later. On 29 October 1923, the status of the nation as a republic was declared and its official name was proclaimed to be Türkiye Cumhuriyeti (“the Republic of Türkiye”). After that, a vote was held in the Grand National Assembly, and Atatürk was elected as the first President of the Republic of Türkiye.🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷

Our common duty today; to protect the national values, consciousness, the Republic, protect the Çanakkale, the spirit that won the War of Independence and pass this consciousness to the next generations. The Turkish Nation will march hand in hand to an enlightened future with its language, culture, history and respected identity.

105 yıl önce bugün Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisimiz açıldı. Bir yandan kurtuluş savaşı yürütülürken bir yandan da bağımsız ve modern bir cumhuriyetin temelleri burada atıldı. Kurtuluş ve kuruluş gerçekleşti. Egemenlik kayıtsız ve şartsız milletin oldu. Atatürk ulusal egemenliği çocuklara armağan etti. 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷 23 Nisan Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramımız kutlu olsun 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷 We are celebrating the 105th anniversary of our Grand National Assembly and also National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
The Grand National Assembly met for the first time in Ankara in 1920 during the War of Independence to lay the foundations for an independent, secular and modern republic. The April 23 celebrations focus on children after Ataturk, the first speaker of the parliament, dedicated the day to children as our nation’s future.

8 Mart, kadınların eşitlik mücadeleleri sonucu yüzyılı aşkın süredir Dünya Kadınlar günü olarak kutlanıyor. Mor adalet ve onuru, yeşil umutları sembolize ediyor. Tüm dünya kadınlarına adaletli, onurlu ve umutlu bir gelecek diliyorum. Çünkü, bu dünyayı ancak kadınların ve onlara değer veren adamların kurtarabileceğine inanıyorum.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
As a result of the struggle for equality of women, March 8 has been celebrated as the International Women’s Day for more than a century. Purple symbolize justice and dignity, and green symbolize hopes. I wish all the women of the world a fair, honorable and hopeful future. Because, I believe that only women and men who appreciate them can save this world.

HİÇBİR ÖLÜM BU KADAR ÖLÜMSÜZ OLMAMIŞTIR
Aramızdan ayrılışının 86. yıl dönümünde büyük atamızı saygıyla, minnetle ve özlemle anıyoruz. Bugün dahi dünyanın neresine bakılırsa bakılsın, önderliğinde yapılan kurtuluş savaşımızla, kurulan cumhuriyetimizle ve yaptığı devrimleriyle ışıl ışıl parlıyor. Değerini hâlâ anlamayanlara ya da anlamaları işine gelmeyecek olanlara rağmen 😔

26 Ağustos sabaha karşı, Mustafa Kemal Afyon’dan Büyük Taarruz’u başlatır. 30 Ağustos’ta Başkomutanlık Meydan Muharebesi’nin kazanılmasının ardından “Ordular, İlk Hedefiniz Akdeniz’dir. İleri!” emri ile ordular, 9 Eylül’de İzmir’e girer ve “Akdeniz” hedefini gerçekleştirir...
Eşsiz bir destandır... Eşsiz bir destanı da ancak eşsiz bir şairin, eşsiz dizleri anlatabilir... Nazım Hikmet’in Kuvayi Milliye Destanı 8 bölümden oluşur. Büyük Taarruz’u anlatan son bölümdür.

SEPTEMBER NINE is a local holiday commemorating the LIBERATION of İZMİR, Turkey’s western province.
On May 15, 1919, the Greek Army landed in Izmir with the permission of the Entente States, sparking a campaign against the occupying forces in the country.
Forming the National Forces (Kuvayi Milliye) as a means of armed resistance against the invaders, Turks knew that there were only two possible choices: either surrender to the occupation forces or fight against them.
On Sept. 9, 1922, Izmir was liberated by Turkish troops commanded by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and foreign intervention in Anatolia come to an end.
The Treaty of Lausanne, a crucial agreement ending the war, was signed on July 24, 1923.
The Treaty of Lausanne — signed by Turkey on one side and Britain, France, Italy, Greece, and their allies on the other — recognized the modern Turkish state and replaced the 1920 Treaty of Sevres, an unfair pact imposed on the Ottoman Empire after World War I.

Millet bilinciyle devam edebilmek için güzel ülkemizin değerini her şekilde bilmek, atalarımızdan kalan değerlere sımsıkı sarılmak zorundayız. Mesleklerini layıkıyla yapan tüm hemşirelerin bu özel gününü ve haftasını eşim Nazlı Güler Uyar’ın şahsında kutluyor, şükranlarımı sunuyorum. Haklarınızı hiçbir zaman ödeyemeyiz. Emeğinizin, değerinizin maddi ve manevi olarak çok daha fazla takdir edildiği, huzurlu, sağlıklı ve mutlu yıldönümleri dilerim. İyi ki varsınız!
They are members of one of the most sacred professions, they work 24/7 in turn, devotedly. Especially during this pandemic period, they made history at the forefront with their heroism.
