The word Elderly comes from “elders” which once meant the ones who carried wisdom, history, leadership, and guidance for the community.

Somewhere along the way, society started treating aging like a burden instead of an honour.
But the Bible paints a very different picture.

The word constantly reminds us to respect, protect, and care for the elderly, because they are living libraries of sacrifice, experience, pain, lessons, and survival.

The same hands that now shake… once carried families.
The same voices that repeat stories… once prayed over children.
The same bodies that move slower today… once worked to keep generations alive.

A society that discards its elders eventually loses its wisdom.

The Bible says:
“Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God.” — Leviticus 19:32

How we treat the elderly says a lot about who we are becoming as nation.
