No Food, No problem. In this episode of “Straight from the Docs”, we are diving slowly into Fasting; the Do’s and Don’ts.

DON’T: Consume Calories. Sounds self explanatory, right? But it’s worth repeating: you cannot eat anything that has calories. No food, no snacks. Nothing……Nada.

DO: Stay Busy. If you are busy, and not at home, you are not in your fridge wondering what there is to eat. (We’ve all been there).

DO: Stay Hydrated. You need to drink water. A lot of it. Water is your best friend during a fast. There’s no escaping that one.

Feeling stressed, tired or even wired and exhausted at the same time? Your adrenal glands might be itching to tell you something. Here’s a quick breakdown: These two small glands that sit right above your kidneys play a huge role in how your body handles stress. They produce your main stress hormone, cortisol, the one that helps regulate your energy, blood pressure, and metabolism.

A quick light lesson before bed. (Pun totally intended)

The light you use at night can affect how deeply you sleep.
Warm white light has more yellow tones which helps your body produce melatonin which helps you sleep.

Cool white light? That has more blue light which destroys your melatonin production….which makes it way harder to fall asleep. Pro Tip: Check your light before bedtime, your sleep depends on it.
