This isn't just a job for me. It's personal. It's World Diabetes Awareness Month, and my heart is extra full.
When I was a child, I learned how to give my grandmother her insulin shots. She had Type 1 Diabetes.
I'd sit with her, and she'd tell me, 'This food makes my sugar go up,' or 'This one keeps me steady.

She was my first teacher. And that's why I'm a dietitian today. I'm not here to give you a textbook plan. I'm here because I've seen it, I get it, and I want to help you navigate this with confidence.
