According to ancient Greek myth, eons ago, Athena gifted the people of Athens an olive tree on the Acropolis 🫒

So the story goes; and if you visit today, you’ll see what is believed to be its direct descendant standing beside the Erechtheion, almost like a time traveler keeping watch over this ancient city.

What a beautiful reminder of how deeply rooted olive trees are in Greek history… pun intended.
