Tomorrow as we celebrate Emancipation Day we reflect on the importance and significance of this day —a reminder of the journey from bo***ge to freedom, and the continuing call for justice, dignity, and healing. As a psychologist, I recognise that true emancipation includes breaking emotional and psychological chains. 🧠 The brain is not just the control center of the body—it’s the seat of thought, emotion, memory, and behaviour. On World Brain Day, we recognize the importance of protecting brain health through early intervention, psychoeducation, and compassionate mental health care. Greater awareness of how trauma, stress, and mental health issues impact brain functioning is essential—because healing is possible through understanding and support.
