Find your purpose, the reason to get up in the morning and embrace living!

Easier said than done so when I open my eyes, I think Of 3 things for which I am grateful sometimes it's as simple as the bed I slept on or the water running through our taps.

I think of the my family for whom I am extremely grateful and this helps me to focus on what makes me tick.

This Christmas Eve, I had the pleasure of baking banana bread, sweet bread, fruit cake, ham and with help made pastelles! Busy work days meant I could not do it before. I realised that I had intense enjoyment preparing the goodies for my family.

What's your purpose? What ultimately makes you happy?

Small consistent steps is necessary to achieve a goal. However onr needs to make the goal specific and list something that can be done to make it a reality.

Today I started with 3km ... 32 mins jogging/walking. This is one step in the goal of being healthy and fit.

Next will be my eating choices. What small step will you take today?

As the proverb says if you want to go fast go alone but if you want to go far you go together.

Today I did my first 20 miler in preparation for my first marathon in December. At mile 15 I was not sure that I would complete it but Cherrie, Shirene, Denise and Dulcie cheered me on.

I also had the opportunity to take some phenomenal photos as the weather was perfect. I have to thank for the wonderful mix of soca that kept me company as my pace was slow.

I dedicate this run to my husband Ian, our children Salima, Francois, Joie-Marie and Michel. I also am grateful for all of my running/walking buddies who support me on this journey call life!

Perseverance is one of my guiding principles. Yesterday I completed my second half marathon. The first one I did at 42 and now I am 54.

At mile 11, I was ready to give up ... it took a lot of mind work to put one foot in front the other, but complete it I did!

My time was 21 minutes less than my first attempt so I am thrilled at my outcome.

Thanks to Cherrie for always encouraging me to push my limit.

I am grateful for those moments that make my heart flutter.

My husband and I love to dance and listen to great music so when we have the opportunity to go to a party that has just the right vibe we are indeed fortunate!

This picture captured a special feeling and I never tire of being grateful for that moment. What moment are you grateful for today?

Consistency ...in action ... whether it is being kind, moving daily, eating nutritiously, expressing gratitude and showing love ... is key to a fulfilling life.

I have completed 19 miles in my 3rd week of a marathon training plan ... stretching is a key component of the plan and I am required to do so on the days that I do not run and as the weeks go along I am required to stretch daily.

It is amazing what 5 to 15 minutes of stretching does for your body ... have you stretched today?

Today I salute my coach Gisele who is awe inspiring. I remember listening to her speak to a hall of Providence Girls' in 2011 and she motivated me to be a life coach and inspire others.

Nothing beats action and she is also the one who inspired me to blog daily ... I did this consistency for 2 years.

I decided I wanted to write a book and got stuck but recently I realised that there was no reason to stop writing my blog.

It was great seeing you Friday Giselle and I am grateful that you are part of my life's journey. Continue to inspire with your amazing writing and I love your sense of humour.

Cheers to another incredible woman in my life!

Maria and I started walking with each other in March 2022 but it seems much longer because we walked nearly everyday for more than 1 hour for more than a year.

We have had so many intense conversations that we got to know each other very well.

We both love to lime and party to good soca in addition to walking!

This beautiful soul is kind, generous, thoughtful and an amazing daughter, sister, wife and mother.

I am thrilled to have Maria as my "new" friend and though we are now countries apart we stay in touch.

I am grateful that you are now part of my journey. I take this opportunity to wish you a phenomenal year ahead as you celebrated your birthday just yesterday. May you be surrounded by love, light and happiness!!!

Today I celebrate another amazing woman in my life. I met Gisele at SJC in 1986.

We have stayed in touch over the years but more so in the last decade.

We share many recipes and in fact my best bread recipe is from Gisele.

During Covid she did my groceries and dropped to my door when we could not do it ourselves.

A kind and generous soul in more ways than you can count. She is an amazing wife, mother and friend.

We try to touch base once a week ... very encouraging and I am very happy to have her in my life's journey!

I am grateful for Gisele. Cheers to this wonderful woman!

Today I celebrate another amazing soul, my first cousin Julie encouraged me to walk my first 5K in September 2011. I groused the whole time however it was about putting one foot in front the other.

I have lost track of how many 5Ks we have done since. In January 2016 I did my first ever 26+ miles (pictured below). Julie could real encourage you to do what you never dreamed of. So happy that I completed it.

A few years later in 2021 we are pictured in Chaguaramas on one of our many walks. I am so proud of Julie and her determination. Just just completed the Ottawa marathon a few days ago! Hats off to her.

She is a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, friend and cousin. I am thrilled to have her as part of my life's journey. She is an excellent organiser and is a great maestro for our family limes. She knows how to get you moving and is there to support others complete their targets.

We are currently doin GirlsRunTT - 150 miles before August 31, 2024 and I am hearing of plans to walk with those who have not been able to make their miles.

I am very grateful to have Julie in my life.

So I met Polly or Paulette Patricia Davis when I was a teenager in the early 80s. We stayed in touch over the years and during Covid we had the pleasure of getting to know each other as adults as we walked for an hour nearly everyday.

On one weekend we even walked 42 km, the equivalent of a marathon by doing 7 km morning and evening from Friday to Sunday.

We have foraged for fruit, we have gone to the beach, walked Macquaripe Road and laughed so much that our bellies hurt.

Polly is a fantastic cook and I learnt how to make pizza dough from her and more recently Risotto.

For my 50th birthday Polly made several desserts. She is a ride or die friend. She is well read and a real history buff. Polly reminds me of the importance of women and supporting them.

She is an advocate for many a cause and is firm in her convictions. If you want a great book recommendation you can ask Polly. I am happy and grateful to have Polly be part of my life's journey!

Cheers to another phenomenal woman in my life.
