Moderating discussions on “Crossroads of Culture & Wellbeing” and “Building Trust in Mental Healthcare” Lara is well suited to coordinate and add relevant insights about these important topics.

Lara is a Clinical Psychologist and the Assistant Secretary of The Trinidad and Tobago Association of Psychologists. She has been practising neurofeedback and psychotherapy in private practice from Trinidad and Tobago for past fourteen years.

As a certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, Lara provides individual, couples and group therapy for clients around the world.

Lara is passionate about the benefits of using the IFS model for therapists as well as clients and is dedicated to providing consultation and training in the IFS model.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Lara has Afro Trinidadian and white English heritage, and has lived in both countries. Her life experiences include childhood trauma, neurodivergence, and chronic health issues which inform her work where she specializes in working with people who have experienced childhood and relational trauma, those who identify as neurodivergent and those who are living with health challenges.

Lara is passionate about creating a therapeutic space where clients can unburden and heal from wounds caused by systemic oppressions such as ableism, racism, sexism, classism, hetero-normativity, colonialism and imperialism.

This discussion will be rich!
