I stole this from one of our fellow mommie's page. The advice is funny yet oh so practical. Happy reading :D

Des Seebaran's Advice on travelling with a toddler:

1. Try to keep her routine going as much as possible. It won't work - she'll still wake up and yell the hotel down at 3 am every night, and refuse to eat breakfast at 8 am but be ravenous by 9, and fall asleep every night at 10 pm when her bedtime is 7 - but it will give you the illusion that you're in control.

2. Children apparently throw different tantrums in public from the ones they do at home. This of the comparison like this: tantrums at home are to tantrums away what mud wrestling is to Hiroshima.

3. Don't let her spot you eating cake/drinking wine/eating ice cream; if you do let her spot you and there's none for her, expect the Hiroshima mentioned in tip #2.

4. Your toddler may decide that although she has two loving parents, she only wants to socialise with one right now. If that parent is her father, and you are her mother, do not take offense. Do not remember that you spent three days in the hospital trying to push her out of your body. Do not remember the stretch marks. Do not remember that you have not had a full meal to yourself since she started eating solids.

Do remember that this is a chance for you to rest, and escape the room while she's clinging to Daddy. Do sit by the pool with some wine and a trashy novel and forget them both for an hour.

When Isabella hit 6 months, I was so excited to start making pureed foods for her (she was exclusively breastfed, so it was our big, bittersweet milestone). This was to be my next step in baby bonding - making food with love. I have to admit, i was a bit overwhelmed at first not knowing where to begin. So for those of you that may find yourself in this position now, here are some great ideas which were definitely a hit with Issy.
