We are smart people, but you don't have to be smart to know that we shouldn't only have one option to access the resource that our lives depend on.
It is beyond time for us to have a conversation followed by collective action to secure a reliable source of drinkable water.
Laws can be changed, especially if they are as exploitative as making it illegal to collect a natural resource that falls from the sky.
Companies must evolve to meet the changes on our island. Every year we personally witness the wastage of millions of gallons of rainwater, that could be harvested either collectively for communities such as Trincity and Chaguanas or for individuals living in rural areas.
It is too big of a risk to leave the responsibility of our water supply to a company.
WASA Trinidad & Tobago could be making additional profit by providing natural water installation and maintenance services, so that when the inevitable happens for the dry season we can still enjoy the service we pay for.
