Let’s debunk some skin care myths! 💥

1) Damaging UV rays can still pe*****te through the clouds. Applying sunscreen everyday regardless of the weather, is key to preventing sun damage, premature aging, and skin cancer.

2) If you are acne proned or you have oily skin, skipping moisturiser can actually cause you to overcompensate and produce more oil. Oily skin needs moisturiser in order to stay hydrated and healthy.

3) You start to lose collagen and elastin from your mid to late twenties. You can start as early as your twenties to incorporate anti-aging products and get in office anti-aging treatments done such as microneedling or collagen induction therapy. Treatment will focus on building collagen and preventing the signs of premature aging.

4)Applying toothpaste to pimples can irritate the skin and damage the skin barrier. Always remember to seek advice from a skin care expert rather than following tik tok trends. There are many causes of acne, and it is important to identify why you’re breaking out. Your doctor will come up with a treatment plan that is customised to your skin and its needs.
