Zwitterionic polymers have some very interesting characteristics, such as:

✔️ High hydrophilicity,
✔️ Low surface free energy,
✔️ Strong hydration, and
✔️ Weak biomolecule interactions

Because of these characteristics, it produces adhesion resistance to common biological substances. With such a feature, this endows bioinert performance for the general types of polymer systems (such as PVC, PP, PE, or EVA).

The design of zwitterionic composite materials can bring a new direction to the next generation of medical materials, devices, or equipment a safer and easier application.

Our innovative products are build on very unique technology!

The Puriblood Leukocyte Reduction Filtration System is based on the following:

● PuriBlood Filter
It uses cation and anion charge-bias to capture WBCs and allows better recovery of RBCs.

● Blood tubular filter
150 um prefilter to remove microaggregate.

● Air-Venting System
It allows faster deaeration and empty the filter housing backside for minimal volume loss and high red cell recovery.

Success is not achieved overnight. Everything takes time. Consistency and dedication is important.

The R&D team designed the charge bias on the zwitterionic surface (the so called Zwitterionic-Bias) on the basis of ZWI-TEC, making more advanced bio-applications possible. One of the studies was to capture stem cells from human blood.

It was back in 2009, when Prof. Chang discovered that white blood cells could be captured specifically on the zwitterionic-bias membrane surface. The team then spent 6 years on the verification effort. Eventually, in 2016 PuriBlood was established and the research outcome was launched as a product: 'a leukocyte reduction filter'.

Today around the world, our innovative products are being used. And we continue our efforts to develop new innovative technology.
