VATA YOGA Ayurveda Hong Kong based, Yogini Path/ Yoga Alliance YACEP E-RYT500/Ayurveda Practitioner/ Retreat Lead/ Vipassana Meditator Andrews, Scotland.

April Tsai, certified Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist (200HR with ThaiVedic 2016), Vinyasa and Yin Yoga Instructor (350HR in Sri Lanka 2019), Reiki level 2 (since 2017)

April grew up in a traditional Taiwanese family where she was influenced with traditional Chinese medicines and philosophy. She also started to understand the importance of health as taught by her mother who was a clinical nurse. On her search of purpose of life, she received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in Taiwan and University of New South Wales, Australia and continued with her postgraduate degree of Marketing in the University of St. She returned to Taiwan in 2006 and started her career in Human Resource field. She then moved to Hong Kong in 2008 and worked in several top tier multinational corporations managing projects for HR and Corporate Strategy teams. During her corporate busy life in Hong Kong, she constantly fell sick due to work and personal relationship stress. She began to understand the mental wellness was key to health as she undertook her part time postgraduate of Counselling in Hong Kong University in 2013. After she completed her first academic year in and training in 2014, her mother was unfortunately diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer last stage, which made her pause her study. She began exploring all possible ways to cure her mother, including TCM, alternative medicines, energy healing, Reiki, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, and so on. Her mother made her transition in April, 2016 and 6 months later April collapsed in her work place due to post grief depressions. She was medicated for a month but the medications made her feel numb towards everything in life. She started to search for self-healing and alternative medicines, and that was when she met Ayurveda. In September 2016, she took 3 months sick leave from work to take on an intensive and challenging 200HR Ayurvedic Holistic Therapist training with ThaiVedic School in Bali to heal herself. She was trained with Ayurveda, Ayurveda Yoga Therapy and Ayurvedic Thai Bodywork (massage) and Ayurveda life coaching by a joint force of international teachers. With Ayurveda and Yoga, she cured her own depression without medications and stopped her 15-year old smoking habit. She has learnt all the tools to create the safest, the most harmonious and the most intimate healing process for herself. Since Jan 2017, she has started to teach Ayurveda Yoga Therapy, Ayurvedic Thai Massage and offer Ayurveda holistic consultation till today. She began with a fund raising project called “Water Lily Yoga Project 2017” in the name of her passing mother to donate all her earnings to Mayaa Nepal for children under poverty. She has offered Ayurveda Yoga Therapy in corporates setting as well as private/ studio classes (Estee Lauder, Unilever, Wheelock with TheDo School, Cancer Fund HK) and was interviewed by SCMP in 2019 on how she overcame her depressions via Ayurveda & Yoga. In parallel to her 12 years+ of Yoga practice experience, she also enjoys her daily meditation after her Vipassana & Plum Village Mindfulness meditation trainings for over 3 years. To answer her heart’s calling, she decided to leave her comfortable corporate life in September 2019 and dedicate her time 100% to serve in healing others by sharing her knowledges and passions. She is decoding Ayurveda in a simple way to help her clients connect with their body and mind to make healing process to happen. Through Ayurveda, she will guide you to your own self discovery journey on finding your ultimate health and joys. Q: What is Ayurveda? A: Ayurveda is a 5,000 years old, Indian and oldest medical system documented in history. It is a pioneer and influencer to TCM and current western medical system. Ayur = preservation of life, and Veda = wisdom. Ayurveda means “The Art of Longevity of Life.” Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra forms a triangle of spiritual, body and mind harmony in true health in old Indian scriptures. Ayurveda is all about coming back to the Mother Earth, and with the knowing that we are all connected with every living. Ayurveda focuses on 5 elements of Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth which leads to 3 life principles of Vata Dosha, Pitta Dosha and Kapha Dosha. These are everything that made of life, outside and inside us. Q:What can I expect in my first Ayurveda personal consultation? A: You will be guided through questions and conversations to go over your current imbalances, routine, diet, body type, digestive system, psychology, internal toxic level and targeted areas to treat. The initial session will last around 90 mins to really deep dive in who you are and how you live to find the most appropriate/ natural way for your treatment according to Ayurveda. You will receive some herbal supplement for immediate digestive issues when needed. You will also receive initial tips on your lifestyle changes (including routine, habits, exercise styles, meditation styles and so on) during the consultation. All the personal data and information will be kept highly confidential. Q:What a follow-up treatment would look like? A: Once you have completed your first consultation, you’ll know what’s the most apparent imbalance dosha* to treat and work on. A treatment will focus on your mind and body: a typical Vata imbalance treatment will include Pranayama (breathing) exercise, guided meditation, Ayurvedic Thai massage in targeted body part, an Ayurveda Yoga Therapy sequence and Reiki. A treatment will be around 60- 75 mins with a mix of modalities involved that’s designed only for you. It’s highly personalised and intent to be sustainable that you can also practice at home. Q: What’s benefits of taking Ayurveda therapy and treatment compared to Western medicine? A: Ayurveda is non-invasive. Ayurveda focuses on treating the root cause not the symptoms. The Ayurveda herbal supplements have very minimal side effects as they are sourced naturally. We provide a holistic way to help clients to live a healthier life. We also promote self-healing and self-empowerment as the herbal supplements will only work the best with a healthy change of lifestyle, habit and attitudes towards life. We empower our client to take over your power of health. Q:What’s an ideal lead time (length) of an Ayurveda treatment to see the effect? A: It depends on individual’s imbalances but ideally we’ll be checking-in once a week in the first start of the treatment for 4-8 week’s time.

Feb- March 2026
Document what has been happening lately

Make more time for mindfulness and Vipassana
Enjoy cooking Ayurveda way and explore different seasoned harvest
Take home cooked lunch boxes to work more
Passed my second Japanese level 1 test
Now I can describe what I like and what I dislike in different tenses in Japanese

And...

Catching sunset on ferry home seems a long shot
Seeing more night views when I come home

I value and practice to stay present in midst of work where all karma intensifies
It is human nature to protect self first
And I can allow everyone to be who they are - even not always pleasant

Sleep less
But it’s still OK

I love the freedom and liberation feelings now
And I enjoy spending more time at home

Even doing laundry on the rooftop feels like a treat

Good night

May you live the day as it is

I wanted to spend this festive holiday with like minded people with mindfulness and fun! We had full on schedule everyday, everyday amazed with surprises and healing energies from singing meditations, Dhama sharing, oracle card reading, performance night, new year night markets, sitting meditation, noble silence during meals, super delicious Thai / Vietnamese vegetarian food, new year visit to monastic huts and sang / danced together. Sharing tears and laughters, looking at the incredible sun rise and sunset and starry skies at night. Hugging the pillars to feel Thay’s presences at Thay’s residence.

Meeting so many new people from all over the world, sharing stories and not caring about what we do for living and future plans. Practice coming back to the present moment at the sounds of the 🔔 bell.

I used my Thai name Mayza and blended into my new thai community and my international dharma family and amazing dance swat team. Although I wouldn’t be able to chat with everyone but I feel so thankful to be held and supported - in a total safe and non-judgemental space.

And this time, after 8 years, returning to PV Thailand - I felt reborn; how much I had come thus far on my dharma study and journey. I had my question answered - through Thay and the compassionate Shanga.

I am so thankful to have met all of you, who listened to my stories, who allowed me to be who I am; who enabled me to stay true and honest.

Every day is a new day. There is no past and no future. In gratitude, you are in me and I am in you.

I feel so happy.

Happy new year and let’s have a wonderful year of horse 🐎

May I be happy and free
May you be happy and free
May every living being be happy and free

Shanti, shanti, shanti

Last weekend, I led an Ayurveda self-awareness workshop with inspiring cancer warriors at Hong Kong Cancer Fund. We tasted Dosha-balancing spices, chanted the peaceful Shanti mantra together, and sipped nourishing Tulsi tea—creating moments of deep connection, calm, and inner strength. Grateful for their courage and openness. 💜

I spent my last week of 2025 in Kathmandu Nepal to receive a pancha karma in a loving Ayurveda clinic - I walked in with a lot of bodily pains and mental agitation

The unconditional love and care I received from the clinic is incredible. They took care of me with all their presence and attentions. The clinic is a team of beautiful people with the kindest hearts and healing hands.

Ayurveda is such a timeless healing science and I feel so home every time I am encountering with her.

Everyday body massage with medicated warm oils, delicious and home cooked vegetarian meals, herbal tea, boiled apple desert in the afternoon during Basti (colon treatment), and singing bowl after massage, shirodhana (oil dripping head massage), dosha and yoga and so much more. Everyday my body and mind is rejuvenated.

Deeply grateful to Dr Pama Dr Rumie, Sanjay and the entire crew and chef. thank you for your presence and healing power and going extra miles to make sure I feel well

2025 was a hectic year, relocated back to Hong Kong and straight to a new role and then restructured, 2026 will be a year filled with uncertainty and changes - I will remind myself with my time spent here in Nepal, to fulfill my duties and offer my presence to everyone around me.

Happy new year to all.

Peace and love

/Take A Pause on Sunday/

In the whirlwind of modern life, Vata Dosha spirit can feel like dry leaves scattered by a relentless wind—airy, ungrounded, yearning for stillness.
So this weekend, I am returning to my anchor: a gentle morning pause. This is my quiet rebellion against the noise, a personal ritual to call my energy home.
I rise with the soft light, wrap my hands around a warm cup, and simply be. I feel the earth beneath me, taste the silence, and listen to the rhythm of my own breath. This is not a task; it is a homecoming.

This sacred pause is how I whisper to me: “You are safe. You are rooted. You are here.” It is the deepest medicine for a weary, wandering spirit.
Join me in carving out a moment of quiet grace with on Sunday 7 Sept on Lamma. Your nervous system is begging for it. Register here https://forms.gle/iP9w7joU1qBZJZLR9
