Tanzania Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (TPI) was founded in 1980 as a government owned company, the plant is one of the largest pharmaceutical industries in Eastern Africa. It was privatized in 1997 and the majority of the shareholding is now owned by a firm Tanzania entrepreneurs. The companies manufacturing facility is located at plot number 34 Themi Industrial area Arusha on the slopes of Mount Meru in Northern Tanzania. TPI is a complete healthcare concern, formulating and manufacturing pharmaceutical products for human use. After privatization, massive rehabilitation and modern investment was taken. Now, TPI derives is strength from its integrated manufacturer, warehousing, quality control / assurance and engineering facilities, which are backed up by competent management capabilities in the areas of production, marketing, quality control and assurance, personal and finance.
