Uroa 5. Serengeti I am Dr Ameesh Mehta holding Medical degree MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from University of Mumbai, Maharashtra India since 1997. I am fully registered in Mumbai, India and Tanzania East Africa. Since then I have gained vast medical experience in Mumbai, India, Muscat Oman and Zanzibar Tanzania, and was based in the United States from March 2002 till 2008.After that I was the Chief Hospital Administrator of Regency Medical Center Dar-Es-Salaam, then finally reopened Dr Mehta’s Hospital on July 30th, 2011. In my six years in the US I have gained a variety of certifications as a Surgical Assistant , Nationally Certified Allied Healthcare Instructor from American Medical Technologist just to name a few. I have gained a lot of experience working under physicians in the US and have been in the Allied healthcare industry for five years and spent two years working for a Fortune Five hundred company as a Medical Director for their Dialysis center named DAVITA in Houston Texas. I was also was awarded a Diploma in Dialysis Training. I was born in Zanzibar and my forefathers have also practiced medicine in Zanzibar. My Grandfather was a personal Physician to The British Secreterate and the First President of Zanzibar H.E. Abeid Amani Karume, My dad and Uncle followed the same tradition being personal Physician to the top Government Officials who eventually became Presidents of Zanzibar. I have worked in Zanzibar and Tanzania and speak the language fluently, have worked in the country and know how to deal with tropical medicine, local diseases and culturally well versed to deal with locals. Besides speaking five languages and have lived in more then four continents am well accustomed to dealing with a variety of people and understand different cultures’ have come back to Zanzibar to serve Zanzibaris and visitors alike with my Medical Expertise. Currently am the Physician to MELIA Zanzibar hotel (former Kempinski) in Kiwengwa and have opened a state of art clinic with modern equipments.We have opened another state of Art Clinic Mahonda area, to make access of Health care of local citizen and villagers and neighbour area; in associate with Sugar Factory.
