Breaking stigma is not just a social goal: it is a political strategy.

Swipe through to see exactly what period stigma is, where it comes from, and what it is truly costing us. 👉

Because when we stay silent about
menstrual health:
🏫 Girls miss school
💼 Women lose income
🩺 Conditions go undiagnosed
🏛️ Policy stays underfunded

Breaking stigma is not justa social goal, it is a political strategy.

Every conversation we have.
Every post we share.
Breaking stigma is not just a social goal; it is a political strategy.

Communities always show up for menstrual health, but their support alone is not enough. 🏘️➡️🏛️

A lasting menstrual justice requires:
✅ Government investment in menstrual products
✅ Policies that protect menstrual rights
✅ Safe sanitation in schools & public spaces
✅ Education that breaks stigma

Menstrual health is not a private burden. It is a public responsibility.

As we move toward Menstrual Hygiene on May 28th, we are calling on governments and communities to act together.

Break stigma. Fund dignity.
Change policy. 💜🩷

It’s April 2nd, and we’re officially 56 days away from Menstrual Hygiene Day. 🗓️✨

In East Africa, period health has been treated as a 'private struggle' for too long. But privacy breeds stigma, and stigma leads to neglect.

We don't just need pads; we need policy. We don't just need silence; we need support. From reduced-tax products to Endo-friendly workplaces, it’s time to get our governments and communities on board. 🇰🇪 🇺🇬 🇹🇿
This month, we’re moving beyond 'awareness' and into Advocacy. 🗣️

Whom do you want to see doing more for menstrual health this year? Tag a leader, an organization, or a friend who needs to join this fight. 👇

March, you were more than just a month. You were a realization. 💜

Through every DM, every comment, and every shared story, the message was clear: East Africa is ready for a safe space to talk about period health. 🇰🇪 🇺🇬 🇹🇿 🇷🇼

We’ve spent this month listening to your myths, your 'is this normal?' moments, and your journeys with Endometriosis. It has fueled us to build something even more special.

Get ready for April. We’re going deeper. We’re building Siku Zangu for YOU. 🌸✨

“It’s just period pain.”
But what if it’s not? 👀

Endometriosis affects many women, yet so many go years without answers.

Because pain was normalized.
Because conversations didn’t happen.

💬 Severe cramps
💬 Heavy bleeding
💬 Pain that affects daily life

These are not things to ignore.

As we mark Endometriosis Awareness Day, this is your reminder:

Your pain is valid.
And you deserve to be taken seriously. 🩷

Tag someone who should see this or save it for later.

What nobody told me about my period… 💬

Most of us didn’t get the full story.

We figured things out through:
Google searches
Friends
Guesswork
And sometimes… panic 😅

There’s so much we should have known earlier.

💬 Your cycle can change month to month
💬 Not every symptom means something is wrong
💬 Hormones affect more than just your body
💬 Tracking your cycle actually helps

But the biggest one?

You’re not alone.

We’re all learning, unlearning, and figuring it out together 💜

To every woman who ever had a period 🌸

To the woman who powered through an exam while cramping.
To the woman who led a meeting while on her period
To the woman who always carries a pad for a stranger.
To the woman who taught her daughter that periods aren’t shameful.
To the woman who refused to stay silent.

You are phenomenal.

Not despite our period.
But as a strong, powerful woman who refuses to be limited by it.

Happy International Women’s Day 💜

Your pain is valid.
Your strength is real.
Your voice matters.

This is why we’re building Siku Zangu, because women deserve tools that empower, not just apps that track dates.

Coming soon.
