For an eye injury, do not rub the eye. ⛑️
FOR SPLASHES
• Immediately flush: Run clean water over the eye for at least 20 minutes, tilting the head so the affected eye is lower than the unaffected one.
• Remove contacts: If possible, remove contact lenses before flushing. If not, flush with the lenses still in place.
Avoid cross-contamination: Be careful to keep contaminated water from splashing into the other eye.
• Seek medical attention: Get to a doctor or emergency room as soon as possible after flushing.
 FOR FOREIGN OBJECTS OR DEBRIS
• Do not rub: Instruct the person not to rub their eye, as this can cause further damage.
•Flush with water: If the object is visible, try to wash it out by pouring clean water over the eye for at least 20 minutes, from the inner corner outwards if possible.
• Try removal: If the object is on the surface, you may be able to remove it with the damp corner of a clean cloth, but do not force it.
• Seek medical attention: If the object doesn't come out or if the eye is very painful, seek professional medical help immediately.
 FOR BLOWS TO THE EYE
• Apply a cold compress: Place a cool, clean compress on the closed eye for 15 minutes to help with pain and swelling. Do not use frozen items, as they can cause infection.
• Do not apply pressure: Avoid putting any pressure on the eye or the area around it.
• Seek immediate medical attention: A blow can cause serious damage like retinal detachment, so it is crucial to see a doctor right away, especially if there is pain, vision changes, or bruising around the eye.
