Team Tai flying high in Berlin!
At this year’s re:publica 2025, held under the theme Generation XYZ, our Head of Operations and Programs, Debora Maboya , proudly represented Tai on an inspiring panel titled:
“Makers, Movers, and Digital Innovators: How Digital Skills Empower Africa to Drive Global Transformation.”
Debora was joined by Anna Sophie Herken , Member of the Management Board at GIZ; Manuel Moritz, Senior Researcher at the New Production Institute; and moderator and geographer Katie Gallus . Together, they explored how digital innovation from FabLabs and open-source hardware to AI and digital sovereignty is creating transformative opportunities across the African continent.
Debora highlighted the power of digital skills to uplift people of all ages and backgrounds, and shared the impact of Oky Tanzania a pioneering digital platform that empowers girls to track their periods, access accurate menstrual health information, and build essential digital literacy.
She carried not just Tai’s mission to the global stage, but the voices of thousands of tanzanian girls including young people with disabilities driving change through technology.
