I love this limited edition collection from MAC full of Dutch Masters influence and a thrilling sense of the richness of autumn. All the same references – cut pomegranate was a big Dutch Master favourite for a fruity still life – appear (have a look at the work of Abraham Mignon (1640-1679) from the foreboding of the colour-scape to the plushness of the pigments. Pass me a pearl earring!
MAC Tempting Fate Collection
Inside, it goes almost a bit baroque – I love, love these colours that are burnished and sumptuous giving you many, many options for looks from striking mono lids to deeply smoky and smouldering eyes.
MAC Tempting Fate Collection
From the title of the collection, Tempting Fate, the inspiration is decadence and temptation and I think it has been achieved. The Feast Your Eyes palette (£35) has three matte shades and five shimmery colours which you can wear as a wash of shimmer or build up into something more eventful.
