Many women associate weight gain with the onset of menopause.

One reason for weight gain post-50 is the slowing down of metabolism.

As people age, they require significantly less food than the younger ones.

However, it's common for women to indulge in their cravings over the years, justifying it with thoughts like "there's little joy in life anyway."

Why little joy?
Issues typical of this life stage are now easily manageable. And it's entirely possible to lead an active lifestyle and look great after 50.

But unfortunately, you won't lose weight this way ❌, though you might stretch your stomach and store fat easily 🍔. The thing is, berries and fruits contain a lot of fructose 🍇🍎, which serves as a source of energy storage, i.e., fat 🧈.

It's no wonder bears stock up on berries before hibernation 🐻. The calories might seem low ⚖️, but just look at those soft bellies they end up with 🧸.

I'm not suggesting that you avoid berries 🍓, especially seasonal ones 🍒!

Feel free to eat them every day, but no more than a small cup, and only after breakfast or lunch 🥣🍽️. Berries aren't the best choice for dinner 🌙.

Also, fructose can awaken your appetite 🍽️. Sugars quickly enter the bloodstream and stimulate the pancreas to synthesize insulin 💉. This means hunger won't go away, even if you fill up on watermelon 🍉.

By the way, your belly might start sticking out because of fruits and berries too 🍏🍒. After enjoying some cherries (or apples, pears, etc.), you might find yourself surprised by your rounded shape at the beach 🏖️.

The culprit? Gases 💨. Your belly might not even feel uncomfortable, but the simple sugars have done their job by increasing gas production ⚡.

Appetite and Hunger: What's the Difference? 🤔

Agree, often breakdowns occur against the background of strong appetite, not physical hunger. Therefore, understanding the difference between true hunger and appetite is crucial. If you can manage your appetite, breakdowns will remain in the past. 🚫🍽️

When you have real physical hunger, it's a sign from your body that it needs nourishment. 🍎

👉🏻 So, what's the difference between hunger and appetite? 🧐

Usually, these are different physical sensations.

〰️ Hunger – arises in the body 3-4 hours after eating and slowly intensifies. ⏳

〰️ Appetite suddenly appears, a minute ago you weren't thinking about food and suddenly you really want to eat. 🍰

Almost always, appetite is an unbearable desire to eat specific foods (pizza, ice cream, chocolate). You feel you must eat something specific and nothing else will substitute! You're even ready to go to the store for this product or take a break from work. 🍕🍦🍫

Whereas normal physical hunger can be satisfied with any whole food. Even if there are preferences, you're still ready to eat what's available. 🥗

Appetite usually arises in the consciousness, sometimes as a sensation in the mouth. 🧠

With regular appetite, if you distract yourself and shift your attention, it can just fade away and not return. With appetite, the ability to postpone holds immense resources. 🔄

Usually, appetite goes hand in hand with quite intense emotion, both positive and could be negative. 😄😢

True hunger does not depend on emotions. 🚫💔

Food consumed in a fit of appetite is absorbed in an automatic impulsive mode. You eat standing, sitting, while walking, browsing the phone. You swallow the treat quickly, unconsciously, and this can lead to overeating. 🏃‍♂️📱

After such eating, there is often a sense of guilt and unpleasant physical satiation. 😔

True hunger, when satisfied, gives pleasant sensations throughout the body, calmness, and a clear mind. 😌✨

❗️ It's important to understand that hunger and appetite are different signals requiring different solutions. 🔍

With true physical hunger, you actually need to eat, while with appetite, you need to learn to manage it. After all, appetite is usually a cry for help from your brain. 🧠🆘

Excess weight is the result of, on one hand, poor eating habits (primarily, excessive consumption of fats and sugars 🍔🍰 and low consumption of fruits 🍎 and vegetables 🥦), and on the other hand, a sedentary lifestyle (prolonged sitting in front of the TV 📺, or computer 💻).

Therefore, it can be asserted that people who consume few fruits and vegetables tend to eat fatty and sugary foods and are prone to overweight.

🍌 Can you gain weight from fruits? If you eat the same fruits, such as apples, bananas, grapes – will you get too much sugar?

Most fruits contain little energy and fat. Fruits contain a lot of so-called natural sugars (sucrose, fructose, glucose 🍯).

Therefore, there is indeed a risk that if, for example, you eat several kilograms of apricots 🍑 per day during the season, you can consume an excess of energy, which may lead to weight gain.

However, first and foremost, weight gain depends on the balance between energy consumed and energy expended 💪.
