The seeds and roots of cocklebur are used in the treatment of dysentery, dyspepsia, and various skin diseases. Cocklebur seeds are also used in the treatment of tuberculosis of the throat and cancer of the larynx. To do this, they are crushed, rolled and smoked, or you can throw a handful of seeds into an old kettle, close the lid and put it on fire.
