The unit is equipped with modern dental technology and staffed by skilled professionals, offering a full range of services for both adults and children.

In January 2025, St. John XXIII Hospital Aber, in collaboration with 𝗗𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘁𝗲, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵[𝗲]𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, launched a transformative initiative: Empowering Health Heroes, a blended digital learning and mHealth project designed to strengthen maternal and child healthcare delivery in Northern Uganda.

Today, in 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, we reflect not just on what was taught — but what’s being applied.

✔️ 91% graduation rate (50/55 passed)
✔️ Midwives are now enrolling mothers directly into LUCY Care
✔️ Health knowledge is being shared beyond facilities into homes and communities

In partnership with 𝐀𝐕𝐒𝐈, we recently completed a two-week ultrasound training for midwives from across the region. The training equips these healthcare professionals with critical skills to perform ultrasound scans, ensuring early detection of complications and improving the quality of prenatal care. 👶🤰

𝐀𝐕𝐒𝐈 also donated essential medical equipment, including a mobile ultrasound machine, CPAP machine, and more! 🙌 These tools will make a significant impact on maternal and child health in our community, especially in rural areas with limited access to specialized care.

This initiative is just the beginning of building a stronger, more resilient healthcare system! 💪
