immunity is the ability of the body to fight diseases/infections
Millions of people across the globe are dying due to simple illnesses because they have a low immunity to resist such illnesses. Research shows that people with a stronger immunity have have not been affected by corona virus as compared to those with compromised immunity. This immunity can be natural (mother-child) or artificial (through vaccination or developed naturally from previous infections). It can be specific (antibodies) or non-specific ( white blood cells, lymphocytes, neutrophils ect) all these mentioned have their own functions. HOW TO BUILD A STRONG IMMUNITY
1. In children, mothers should breast feed their children exclusively during the first 6 months because during this time, these children are fully dependant on the immunity provided by the mother, well breast fed children have better immunity than under breastfed ones, after 6 months, supplementary feeding with foods rich in proteins like eggs, fish, milk should be used along side other foods because proteins play a great role making antibodies that fight illnesses
2. Pregnant mothers
A balanced diet is highly recommended, however pregnant mother require a high energy content and proteins, all foods containing plant and animal protein because she needs these proteins to make enough antibodies for her and her baby.
3. Adults
all adults need proteins in required quantities especially animal proteins like eggs, fish, meat etc and vitamins as well because these also have some contributions in building immunity. plant proteins are also important.
