Sunday evenings are the perfect moment to pause and reflect on your personal growth journey 🌱✨

It’s not just about what you accomplished last week, but how you grew in the process. Take a moment to think:

👉 What did you learn? 👉 How did you step outside your comfort zone? 👉 What challenges made you stronger?

Growth isn’t always about big milestones. Sometimes, it’s the small habits we build, the mindset shifts we make, and the resilience we develop that lead to the biggest transformations.

Here’s an exercise for tonight:

1️⃣ Write down 3 wins – big or small – that you’re proud of from last week.
2️⃣ Set 1 new intention for the week ahead. Focus on how you want to grow, not just what you want to achieve.

And remember, personal growth is a marathon, not a sprint. Every step you take is moving you closer to your best self. 💪

Let’s make this week about growing up – one step at a time! 🌟

What’s your growth goal for this week?

This will you—I made my first million by age 21, but what came after changed everything.

If nothing will ever teach you a thing, growing up with a single enterprising mother won't leave you the same for sure. I’ve always lived my life in 4-year cycles, each one exposing me to new lessons and growth. This started in 2011 when I came across an article in my school library. The writer asked: Who are you without your titles?

At the time, my only title was Head Prefect, which gave me an extra bun at breakfast and kept my name off the noise-making list. But his next question struck me: What if you lost everything, your status, your comforts? Would you have the skills to survive?

That challenge flipped a switch. I became a student of survival, learning everything from cooking and sewing to braiding hair and making chapattis. mainly because growing up with my mom meant you had to work a bit to earn your "science tour money or whatever extras were after fees." These skills turned out to be more valuable than I ever imagined.

At 21, I made my first hashtag shillings. Not from a fancy corporate job, but by making curtains and designing interiors while still a nursing student at Mulago Hospital. I learned early that every problem is an opportunity waiting to be solved.

Fast forward 4 years: I had earned my degree, tripled my salary, and started consulting for pharmaceutical & corporate wellness businesses. In just a couple of hours, I could land deals that made my first million seem small. But as I enter my next 4-year cycle, I've realized that the skills that got me here won’t take me to the next level.

I also had a humbling moment: a million shillings in my "mother tongue" is just a few hundred dollars. That hit hard. It’s a reminder that success is relative, and there’s always another level to reach.

For the next 4 years, my focus is on learning new skills. I’m lucky to be surrounded by four millionaires (in dollars 💸 😂 ). Speak of averages, they squeeze 48 hours out of every 8-hour workday! I’m soaking up their knowledge, but I’m also aware they’re busy people.

So, I’ve gone back to the library. Why? Because success leaves clues, and my bet is that many of those are stuck away in hidden bookshelves. Is it an easy task, I can't lie. The spirit is ready though.

Tell me, what survival skills have you learned that changed your life? Drop them in the comments below, indulge me or DM. I am ready to learn.

SUSTRAIN- A Women Mentorship Platform.

In our lives, there are parts we often prefer to keep tucked away, hidden from view. Growing up in the quaint village of Masaka, social norms dictated a communal upbringing where every adult woman was regarded as a mother figure, and if they belonged to your mother's clan- they were family. This sense of interconnectedness meant that familial ties extended far beyond blood relations, fostering a community where children played together on equal footing. However, this idyllic upbringing was soon challenged when I transitioned to high school in Kampala.

It didn't take long to realize that being from Masaka wasn't a badge of honor in peer circles. The arduous journey of over five hours undertaken by my parents to attend a VD in a single term hinted at a perceived lower social status. The stark contrast between the modest lifestyle of Masaka and the affluent ambiance of Kampala made it difficult to keep pace with the city's fast-paced clubs and activities on a limited budget. I vividly recall the sting of humiliation when, on one of those get togethers a friend I had been checking in with shared her phone, only to find she had saved my number as "villager," 😀 😃 that for sure left my self esteem bruised at the moment.

Yet, adversity became the catalyst for growth. Encouraged by my very "mad" yet ambitious girls- Ritah Namwiza, I sought opportunities for personal development and leadership. Proactively seeking for opportunities to grow, I got into some prestigious programs such as the Harvest Institute 2020, Young African Leaders Initiative Network, LéO Africa Institute, and the African Management Institute which transformed my perspective on leadership and fueled my commitment to contributing positively to the continent.

Recent research, highlighted by the Women's Empowerment Index (WEI) of 2022, underscores the global gender gap, revealing that women achieve only 60 percent of their full potential compared to men's 72 percent across key human development dimensions, as measured by the Gender Parity Progress Index (GPPI). While grateful for the support of these networks in recognizing my potential, I am compelled to ask: What legacy will I leave in a world that has invested so generously in me?

This question took on deeper significance during my graduate studies, where it hit me that the average American master's student was just 23 years old (Or based on real time data in y current class of 59 students), highlighting the disparities in educational access and opportunity. It was then that I realized my passion for people development, for reminding women from diverse backgrounds that their hustle matters, and the importance of supporting women facing systemic barriers to success.

Thus, I founded "SUSTRAIN," a platform dedicated to mentoring and empowering the next generation of women change-makers. Through this initiative, I aim to mentor and nurture ten exceptional women in each cycle, empowering them to realize their full potential. With the inaugural cohort selected, I am excited to embark on this journey of transformation and invite others to join me in making a meaningful impact on the world.
