Can you please help me to understand this;
Why is dowry paid?
Is it to show appreciation or is it paid in order to get a wife in your community?
Appreciation is given freely after you receive something.
Buying and selling involves negotiation; You do not get what you want unless you pay.

Hebrews 13:4;
Marriage should be honored by everyone one, there should be sexual purity before and during marriage.
Do not view dowry as chance to earn money and give away your daughters.
we will fall into a trap.

Notice the normal dowry price in the old testament.
Deuteromy; 22:28-29;
Exodus 22:16;
50 shekels of silver was the price for the girl.
That payment of 50 shekels is called bride price or dowry.
That 50 shekels of silver was the cost of one Homer of grain, that is about 15 basins of grain.
The dowry in Israel was 15 basins of grain.
How does that compare with the normal dowry price in your community?

Can any one out there help me to understand dowry according to God's word.
Why is dowry paid?
How does a girl feel when dowry is paid for her?
How does aman feel about paying dowry for his wife?
That would be kind.
