Behind every black and white photo is a story the world almost refused to see.

A trans woman 🏳️‍⚧️learning to love herself.
A trans woman 🏳️‍⚧️ forced to leave home to survive.
A trans woman 🏳️‍⚧️ carrying dreams despite fear, rejection, and uncertainty.
A trans woman 🏳️‍⚧️ rebuilding herself after silence, violence, and loss.

These are not just photos.
They are stories of survival, resilience, and courage.

Across the world, trans women🏳️‍⚧️ continue to exist in systems that deny them safety, dignity, and freedom. Yet every day, we continue to love, create, hope, and rise beyond the hate directed toward us.

Today, on IDAHOBIT, we honor every trans woman fighting to be seen, respected, and protected.
We honor those surviving in silence, those displaced from their homes, those advocating for others while carrying their own pain, and those we lost too soon to transphobia and violence.

Our existence is not something to debate.
We deserve safety.
We deserve dignity.
We deserve to live fully and freely.

To every trans woman reading this:
you are worthy, powerful, and deeply deserving of love and a future.

Representing PRISM Uganda in Bangkok today at the launch of the Q***r Forced Displacement Initiative, convened by alongside q***r forcibly displaced leaders, civil society actors, and government representatives from across the world.

It was powerful to exchange insights, experiences, and visions for collective protection and dignity for LGBTQIA+ forcibly displaced persons and communities globally. Grateful for the conversations, solidarity, and shared commitment toward safer futures for our people. In 🇺🇬 Uganda,many cases of displacement among trans women go undocumented.
What is visible, however, is the reality:
Being asked to leave home after coming out
Losing housing due to discrimination
Moving between temporary spaces without stability
Living in environments that are not safe or secure

Without formal systems of support, many are left to navigate this alone.
This is not rare.
It is happening ,quietly, consistently, and without enough attention.

It’s people trying to find safety in a world that keeps taking it away.It’s the uncertainty of not knowing where you’ll go next,
the fear of spaces that are not meant to protect you,
and the quiet struggle of trying to rebuild stability without support.
It’s moving from place to place,
holding onto hope while everything else feels temporary.
Behind every number is a person
searching for safety, dignity, and somewhere they can finally feel secure.

Numbers don’t show the nights spent wondering where to go next,
or the weight of carrying your belongings from place to place, unsure how long you’ll be allowed to stay.
They don’t show the fear of being turned away again,
or the anxiety of never having a space that truly feels safe.

They don’t capture the silence, the uncertainty,
or the quiet resilience it takes to keep going without stability.
But these experiences are real.
And they are happening to people who deserve safety, dignity, and a place to call home.

Internal displacement is not just a humanitarian issue ,it is a lived reality for many 🏳️‍⚧️ trans women.
Housing instability, forced movement, and unsafe living conditions remain critical but often under-discussed challenges affecting trans communities.
Driven by rejection, violence, and systemic exclusion, many are forced to leave their homes without access to stable or secure alternatives.

This reality continues to exist quietly, with limited recognition and even fewer support systems in place.
