Not all fats are created equal. In honor of Heart Health Month, let’s talk about the ones your heart actually wants you to eat. 🩺❤️

In the RENEW program, we focus on adding "protective" fats that help lower inflammation and improve your lipid panels. Here are three to grab on your next grocery run:

1. Ground Flax Seeds: A powerhouse for fiber! Pro-Tip: Make sure they are "ground" or "milled" to better absorb the heart-healthy nutrients. Add a tablespoon to your morning oatmeal or smoothie.

2. Walnuts: These are rich in ALA (a type of Omega-3). They’ve been shown to support healthy artery function. Keep a pre-portioned stash in your bag for a heart-healthy snack between errands.

3. Olives: A Mediterranean staple! They are rich in oleic acid and antioxidants. They make a perfect, savory addition to a Greek salad or a "charcuterie" board of veggies.

Switching from "low fat" (the 90s trend) to "healthy fats" can feel counterintuitive, but your heart—and your brain—will thank you for the upgrade.
