๐Ÿ“ข Important Announcement for Our Community ๐Ÿ“ข

We are honored to share that on Wednesday, August 28th, the city will be officially recognizing August 31st as our local Overdose Awareness Day. ๐Ÿ’œ

Many of you may remember that last year, city leaders joined us at our Faces of Fentanyl event, where they declared August 24th as our local Fentanyl Awareness Day. This was such a powerful step forward in bringing visibility to the impact fentanyl has had on our families and our community.

Now, with this additional recognition, we are continuing to shine a light on all lives lost to overdose while standing together in remembrance, education, and hope for change.

โœจ Please join us on August 28th as we come together to witness this important proclamation. This is not only a recognition of awareness but also of the loved ones we carry in our hearts every single day.

Together, we will make sure their faces are never forgotten. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

๐Ÿ’” Today, I am sharing something very close to my heart. ๐Ÿ’”

This is a YouTube documentary about my late husband, Billy Gray, whose life was tragically cut short due to fentanyl poisoning. This isnโ€™t just his storyโ€”itโ€™s the story of too many families who know this pain all too well.

My goal in sharing this is not only to honor Billyโ€™s memory but also to bring awareness to our community about the dangers of fentanyl. No family should have to go through the heartbreak of losing someone they love this way.

I invite you to watch, share, and help me spread the message. Together, we can raise awareness, save lives, and let the faces and stories behind this epidemic be seen and heard. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ“ข Announcement from The Local Faces of Fentanyl ๐Ÿ“ข

Hello everyone,

We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves. My mother and I have recently stepped in as the new President and Vice President of this group. It is truly an honor to be part of something so meaningful, and we are committed to continuing the mission of raising awareness and honoring the lives impacted by fentanyl. ๐Ÿ’œ

This year, we will not be holding our event on August 24th, Abilene's local Fentanyl Awareness Day, due to some miscommunication and timing. However, we want you all to know that we absolutely will be hosting an event later this year to carry on the tradition. This will be the 3rd annual "Faces of Fentanyl" event here in Abilene, TX. Itโ€™s very important to us to keep this going for our community, our loved ones, and for all of you who share this space with us.

In the meantime, weโ€™d love to hear your ideas, suggestions, or what youโ€™d like to see included in this yearโ€™s event. Your voices matter, and together we can create something truly meaningful. ๐Ÿ’œ

We will keep you updated as soon as we have more details. Thank you for your patience, support, and dedication to spreading awareness and standing together.

With love and gratitude,
Heather Gray & Shannon Harvey๐Ÿ’œ
