A new video, it’s about 10 minutes long. Just explaining a few things.

Also I had to edited it the way I did because of how it was recorded.

I told myself I would give myself a week to recover before I’d get back on my bike. That’s what I did, and I had a really excellent ride.

I also wanted to post and let everyone know, everyone who has followed, supported and donated, that For Vera will more than likely continue. I will more than likely do the ride again, more so I want to.

These past few days while resting gave me some time to do some deep reflection. While this journey itself has been in honor of Vera and to raise money for Dr. Dunn's practice, I guess I've never really taken the time to say thank you and we still remember. Not just a generalized thank you, but a thank you to everyone who was there with us through Vera's life, and even after she had passed.

We would like you to remember those who were there the night Vera was born and ultimately left this world. Dr. Nicole Bullock, who was Brooke's OBGYN, the Doctor that delivered Vera and gave me the opportunity to hold my daughter. To her staff that was with her that night, and helped Dr. Bullock with the impossible. To the NICU staff at the formal Abilene Regional that worked so selflessly to save my daughters life. To the surgical team along side Dr Bullock that kept Brooke safe and healthy during that time. To the L&D staff and nurses that made sure that I was taken care of while trying to live through the worst night of my life. The L&D staff and nurses that made sure my wife was safe and not alone when I had to leave. To my best friend at the time who volunteered to take Brooke to Cook Children's via ambulance and to make sure that both her and Vera were taken care of. To my family and friends that made sure Brooke and I didn't break and kept us looking for at the light that was in our life. To the Firefighters and their families that were always there whether in the forefront or the background to make sure we were taken care of while I was away from work.

Vera's life has impacted and changed so many people. Even after 6 years she still continues to show her love and continues to change the world.

A little bit more of a dive into the ride, and a written explanation of how and why things transpired the way the did!

Well, as I explained in one of the first videos the weather on March was going to be a huge determining factor in the ride. The 14th was windy with a south wind but the 15th was going to turn out of the North gusting up to 50mph. (This would only help if I was going to ride to Houston in 1 day 🤷🏻‍♂️)

That being said Brooke and I made the decision to push and ride straight through to Cook Children Hospital completing the ride in one day. With that we would not be able to complete the 204 miles as originally intended. Nevertheless it was the journey and what it means not the added up miles.

The total mileage ended up being around 155 miles complete on the bike. Outside of the 15 miles in the car to avoid riding on back roads after dark to get to Benbrook.

I know I said in the live stream last night that this was physically the hardest thing I have ever done which is still the case. For me it reflects the journey with Vera and how difficult it was, but this is where we are now, and we made it through.

To everyone who donated. To everyone who followed our journey. To everyone who support us and motivated us to keep going. Thank you.

For Vera
