"The Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) is an independent council of veterinarians, veterinary parasitologists, and other animal health care professionals established to create guidelines for the optimal control of internal and external parasites that threaten the health of pets and people." Ehrlichiosis, a tick-borne disease that can affect both dogs and humans, will continue to pose a problem in the United States in 2020. Read more on how to safeguard your dog from this disease.

It was Woodle Wednesday yesterday at Ada Hospital for Animals. Welcome Archie! Archie is a 10 week old Wheaton Poodle (Woodle) and Dr. Juergensen's newest pal. We're glad you came to us, Archie, so Dr. Juergensen could help you feel better. Until next time ♥️

This little girl tried to crash our vet tech Kellie’s bachelorette party this weekend near Traverse City. She was obviously abandoned. Thank goodness Kellie found her and she is safe but we need to find her a home so she can be the life of the party with her forever family. Kellie thinks the kitten is around 7 weeks. She appears to be longer haired with wisps of white in her black fur. She’s a love bug. If you are interested in adopting this precious angel please leave a comment.
Little one you picked the right party to crash!
Thank you Kellie for keeping her safe❤️

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month. Visit or and learn to spot the signs of osteoarthritis pain.

“Pawsfecting” his downward dog pose with one ear standing for yoga class is Navi a 12 week old Yorkshire Terrier!
Looking good cutie!

It’s National Dog Day so I decided not to shave today!! Oh Frank you are “paws done” incredibly handsome.

Please say hello to Owen. Yesterday Owen came to see Dr. Juergensen for a dental. Owen is living his best life now but his start in life was nothing to smile about.
In honor of National Dog Day I would like to share Owen’s story as told to us by his dad.
Owen was found on the streets somewhere near Kalamazoo. You could tell Owen had been on his own and not properly cared for because he was in rough shape. His fur was overgrown and matted to his skin and no one could tell what color he was due to the amount of dirt and debris in his coat. His dad said everyone was shocked to find out Owen had white fur.
Owen went to a rescue organization and he was given the medical and grooming attention that was needed. Life was turning around for this resilient angel. Little did he or his future adoptive parents know the best was yet to be!
Fast forward to a dedicated young couple looking to adopt a dog. Equipped with unconditional love and gratitude their search eventually led them to Owen. They knew he was the one!
Owen has learned to trust and love. And let me tell you Owen’s parents are head over paws in love with him!
Owen you are the complete package! Once your mouth heals watch out because we have a feeling you’ll always have a smile on your face! Your parents certainly do!
Happy National Dog Day Owen!
We celebrate you and all dogs!

Duck, Duck, Duck, GOOSE!! (Remember that childhood game?) Welcome Goose! Isn’t he a cutie? Goose came to see us for his first puppy exam. We had a hard time giving Goose back to his mom!

[08/17/20]   Grand River Drive is closed north of Carl and south at Knapp. Please tell the road crew that you have an appointment at Ada Hospital keeping in mind they might make you take the detour which is the Beltline to Leonard to Crahen to Michigan and then turn left. We apologize for the inconvenience. The road commission did not inform our clinic that the road was going to be closed for paving.
Thank you for your patience

[08/14/20]   Based on guidance from the Michigan Veterinary Association, we will continue curbside service like many veterinary clinics in our area. Per the governor's orders, we are required to adhere to the same safety protocols as our human medicine counterparts. These guidelines are much more strict than traditional businesses. We cannot accommodate the guidelines and still provide the capacity to care for our patients. Ultimately, we feel it protects everyone's health and allows us to keep hospital operations running smoothly. We truly miss interacting with our clients and hope to open our doors as soon as we can. Until that time, we deeply appreciate your understanding.

What is black and white or white and black?
A panda bear, piano keys, a tuxedo cat?
Give up?
It’s Graham a Border Collie puppy!!
Just look at his smile, his markings, his ears! Oh my! Cuteness overload!

Walking the “catwalk” at Ada Hospital for Animals is an up an coming feline fashionista named Elsa.
An eye infection wasn’t going stop Elsa from interacting with her adoring fans!
Elsa you’re a love bug!

[08/11/20]   We are currently experiencing phone and internet issues. The estimated time they'll be back up is 7pm this evening. We are sorry for any convenience this may cause!

Now Winks, just because clients aren’t allowed in the clinic yet due to COVID doesn’t mean you’re free to strut around in your birthday suit!
Actually Winks our clinic cat and “boss” is sporting her new lion cut!

All rise for the honorable Honor! This lil guy is a 15 week old Labradoodle. Holding court with Honor at home are 2 feline sisters!!

Last night we had a bridal shower for our vet tech Kellie and her fiancé Zach. We work hard during the week so it’s always fun to get together outside of work especially to celebrate a special occasion!
Congratulations Kellie and Zach!

Hi Jenni do you need any help? I’ll work for treats!!
Willow got her nails done today! Thanks for coming to see us today sweet girl.
