DAY 16 Feb. 14: The thought for today is GRATITUDE. Today: I will list five things for which I am grateful for and share these good things with another. "In daily life we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy.” Brother David Steindl-Rast, Coordinator of
DAY 15 Feb. 13: The thought for today is REVERENCE. Reverence for all life is fundamental to Ahimsa; it is the ultimate rationale for nonviolence - for how can one willingly do harm to that for which one has reverence - and towards which one has the love that reverence engenders? Developing a reverent attitude towards life means taking time to be awed by beauty. I cultivate this awe by sitting in quiet contemplation to enjoy a spacious stillness. Today: I open myself up to a feeling of reverence for all forms of life, especially each and every person that I meet during the day.
DAY 14 Feb. 12: The thought for today is HUMILITY. Making mistakes is a part of learning and growing, simply an error in approach. Paradoxically, the only way we can begin to escape from the consequences of our actions is to stop running from them and to face them with fortitude and humility. In this sense, every difficult situation is a precious opportunity for learning. When we humbly acknowledge our mistakes and reflect on what we have learned, it frees us from the need to be defensive. Being free from defending our position creates an opportunity for nonviolence. Today: As I gaze up at the stars tonight, I am aware of how small I am, how my life is but a fleeting moment in the vast scale of time and distances of the solar system and the universe. And in that moment of humility, I acknowledge that I DO make a difference.
Day 11, Feb 9: The thought for today is contemplation. For at least 3 minutes relax, breathe, and see whatever is good and beautiful. "The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and the power of contemplation rather than mere survival" - Aristotle
DAY 10 Feb. 8: The thought for today is FAITH. When Cesar Chavez was organizing farm works in California, he challenged them to say, “Si, se puede” - yes, it is possible - when they didn’t know how they would overcome obstacles. Today, say “Yes, it is possible” even if you don’t know how your goal will be realized. Have faith - you will find a way. “Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.” Martin Luther King, Jr. Today: I will say, “Yes, it is possible,” to every obstacle I meet. I will write down three things I am having a challenge with and with each one write “It is possible for me to overcome this obstacle and be successful.”

Unity Center for Spiritual Growth is a loving, open, and welcoming spiritual center located in Ada, Michigan.

Unity is not so much a Christian denomination as it is a way of life. In fact, some say it’s a more difficult path, because rather than being told what to believe and how to live, everyone must be responsible for their own growth in their relationship with the creative power we call God, among other names. We believe God is a loving presence, present everywhere and in all things. Our spiritual paths help us find ways to improve our realization of that presence in our individual and collective experiences. We are a loving, welcoming, authentic and connected group of seekers. When you visit on a Sunday morning (10:30 service) or attend a class (see our website), you will be welcomed into a non-judgmental community. If you stay, we will support you in your spiritual growth toward a connection with Source; whatever your background and wherever you are on your path.

Mission: Helping people find wholeness and healing on all levels(mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically) by offering a variety of learning opportunities, spiritual practices and healing techniques. Reminding everyone about their divinity and that they are worthy of love, forgiveness, acceptance no matter who they are. Creating deep connections within our community. By being the change we wish to see in the world, we make a global impact.

[07/05/20]   Re-Open Welcome Back Unity
We have reopened our Sanctuary for Service Sunday beginning June 28th at 10:30.

We are excited to take this step and these are the plans we have made to keep us all safe:

We will follow the CDC Guidelines with Social Distancing of 6 feet or more, wear Face Masks at all times (these will be provided for anyone who needs one), and a hand sanitizing station is set up at our lobby entrance for your use before and after service.

We will use only the upper floor and upper parking lot. The lower parking lot and the stairs between the upper and lower floors will be corded off.

All surfaces, including bathrooms, will be cleaned and sanitized before each Service.

There will be no Nursery initially; its opening will be determined as we progress with our opening. Kitchen Angels will supply small water bottles which can be discarded. We will phase in treats and coffee.

Initially there will be no paper bulletins. Sanitized Visitor Packets can be picked up at the Welcome Table. Music will be provided by Mark Kahny, Ray Cox, Toni Edson, and Gregory Chandron

The Congregation will not be singing, however we would like to exit the Church after the Service and form a non-hand holding, properly distanced circle outside with Ray leading us in the Peace Song. Our plastic drop box will be stationed by the Sanctuary door for members to place their offerings.

The center is alive, with the sound of music

We will have our music back!!!!!! Ray and Toni will be leading the way and we would also like to welcome back Gregory to join us with his infectious energy and wonderful gifts.
In addition, we are so excited to welcome Mark Kahny who will be our permanent musician through October. As many already know, Mark is an incredibly talented musician and singer/song writer who brings world class talent to everything he does.

[06/05/20]   Covid 19 Update

At last nights board meeting, it was approved by the board, that Unity Center for Spiritual growth will begin the process of opening up our doors for services beginning June 28th.

While we are excited to have you back, we also want to make sure we are doing everything to assure your health and safety. As a result, we have put together a committee that will begin to nail down the specifics of what it will look like when we do reopen.

As I am sure you can imagine, there are many things to take into consideration and we will be. We are going to do our best to take information from local, state and federal guidelines to make sure we are following prescribed protocols.

Once we start to get some of the specifics down, we will be letting you know, so that you can decide for yourself when the right time is for you to start attending.

Have a great day and can’t wait to see you soon –

Michael Rocque

Our Story

Unity is a non-denominational church as well as a spiritual way of life. We believe God is a loving presence, present everywhere and in all things. Our spiritual paths help us find ways to expand our realization of that presence in our individual and collective experiences. We are a loving, welcoming, authentic and connected group of seekers. We embrace and support everyone in their spiritual growth and toward a connection with Source; whatever their background and wherever they are on their path.

We invite you to grow with us on Sunday mornings (10:30 services) or attend a class (see our website at: http://www.unitycsg.org.)

We look forward to supporting you in your spiritual journey!
