Noah's Festival of Life Raising awareness and helping families with children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease. This has given her the desire and commitment to help others.

Noah was born with Heterotaxy Syndrome and a very complex heart condition; DORV (single ventricle), mitral atresia and TAPVR. Despite enduring four heart surgeries and several angioplasties and procedures since birth, Noah Bella has never let her Congenital Heart Disease define who she is. It was during her last open heart surgery at the age of five that she was able to comprehend how meaningful it was to receive a thoughtful care package from the Hopeful Hearts Foundation. She immediately took comfort in this gift and wanted to see other children like herself feel as special as she did. Noah's personality is full of charisma, magnetism, strength, character, and an ever-present mindset to do good in this world. With Noah’s Festival of Life she continues to be an inspiration and an example to many people on how to lift the spirit and make a positive difference in the lives of heart families throughout the country. Noah’s mission is to help as many heart families in need by providing financial assistance for such expenses as travel, lodging, food, hospital parking, as well as care packages for families during their child's hospitalization to aid in comfort and healing. If it's not stressful enough to see a child undergo complex heart surgery, the additional burden of having to pay for these expenses during this difficult time is insurmountable for many. Noah would like to do what she can to ease this strain and allow these families to focus all their energy on their child. The Hopeful Hearts Foundation is the beneficiary of all proceeds from Noah’s Festival of Life. Net proceeds go to help families with children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease by defraying the expenses accrued during a child's hospitalization. It’s hard to believe that we lost Noah one year ago today. We weren’t prepared to lose you. In all the years we knew how things, we still weren’t prepared. You always beat the odds. Now as I’m sitting her trying to reflect on the 365 days I’ve had to wake up without you, the pain is searing. Nothing truly eases the pain and I know nothing ever will. .
But through all this pain, I can’t help but to see through it—the kind of person she was. The amount of light that always shined around her. We all know this. I’ve always believed she wasbrought to this world for a reason, so I must believe there is a reason she left this world. I am certain she was placed here to change people’s lives, just as I’m certain of my own name. But more importantly, she has seemed to have dusted this magic all over us and have blessed us even more so with every lesson she taught every single one of us. Just ask anyone who knew her what impression she left of them and I’m certain once again that it’s something they’ve never encountered before. It was her magic. And now she leaves a long trail of hope leaving clues for us along the way. I look for them every day and when I find them it gives me courage to take another step. .
I think about her resilience and how even on the hardest days of her journey, when bravery felt so overrated, I could still tell she remained a force to be reckoned with. Noah’s bravery has always stood out to be the motivating factor for the many people whose lives she’s touched. It continues to be my push to wake up every morning and breathe. .
I continue to look at her selflessness and how she taught us to always try and put our best self forward. To live honestly with gratitude and empathy. How many of us truly live this way? How many of us think of others before themselves? That compassion IS the greatest gift. This is how she lived. Thesethoughts stemming from someone so young and too young to leave this world. I am certain she has moved onto a better place where her spirit and energy will live on for an eternity—a place I long to be one day and see her again.
I hope to one day leave a fraction of a legacy she left and continues to leave. I hope we all keep thinking upon her when the going gets tough, when every card is stacked against usbecause she’ll be there pushing us and guiding us along the way, using her magic. So this year, may it be a year of growth—all be it with baby steps—in finding our way to navigate this world with the tools she’s left us. We’ll be sure to share our stories, keeping Noah’s magic alive.

Noah's Festival of Life began because Noah wanted to help other heart kids and families like hers. She wanted other heart kids feel the joy she felt when receiving a kind care package in the hospital. Since 2009, she made it her purpose to raise as much money as she could for the . Little did we know when the three of us set out to do this, Noah would help raise over $100,000 for families affected by CHD.
It's troubling to know this photo was taken one year ago today at our last NFOL together. Little did we know we would only have two more months with our girl and have our second born without her. Our hearts continue to ache, but we hope to continue her legacy and honor Noah Bella and all our sweet warriors that left us too soon.

Noah is still in the CICU at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia recovering from Wednesday's procedure. Still intubated as we continue to take fluid off of her and clear up her lungs. She is stable and making good, slow and steady progress. We are on her time. Please continue to cover her in prayer as each day and night has posed different challenges for her. She has no doubt shown a resilience unlike any other; made clear by every nurse and doctor that is taking care of her. Love you all for your support.

If you could please take a moment and send your positive energy and powerful prayers to Noah and her doctors. She just went into the cath lab. Will be a long procedure as she'll be going between 4 different types of procedures through it all. Will keep you updated as we can. My heart is in my throat as I'm writing this but she's in the best hands with this incredible team.

It is with our hearts overflowing with joy and gratitude that we want to thank everyone for their support of Noah's Festival of Life in support of the Hopeful Hearts Foundation. Thank you for coming out and experiencing such an incredible day with us in an effort to raise awareness for the #1 birth defect worldwide, CHD. Because of your support, we successfully raised over $40,000! We will continue to help families around the country who are affected by CHD with financial assistance and provide comfort and support with Hopeful Hearts' care package deliveries to children recovering from heart procedures.

We are proud to have immediately supported families at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, where Noah receives her cardiac care, with a care package delivery to patients and families there.

On behalf of Noah Bella, my husband, Keith, and the Hopeful Hearts Foundation, thank you so much for your support.

Lastly, thank you everyone for all your well wishes for baby boy Michaelis. We are so excited for his arrival this spring!

Love and Gratitude,
The Michaelis Family
