Early detection can be a life saver when it comes to breast cancer. This month set a reminder to take action for your breast health and perform a self check once a month.
🌸 1. Choose a regular time: Pick a time each month to perform your breast self-exam. It is best to do it a few days after you period ends.
🌸 2. Stand in front of a mirror: Look at your breasts in the mirror with your arms at your sides. Check for any changes in size, shape, or skin texture. Inspect for dimpling, puckering, or any unusual skin changes.
🌸 3. Raise your arms: Raise your arms overhead, observe for the same change in step 2.
🌸 4. Check your ni***es: Look for any signs of discharge, scaliness, or inversion.
🌸 5. Lying Down: Lie on your back and place a small pillow or folded towel under your right shoulder. Using your left hand, examine your right breast. Use the pads of your fingers to feel for any lumps or irregularities in a circular motion, moving from the outside toward the center. Repeat for the left breast.
🌸 6. Up and Down: Next, sit or stand and check your breasts with your arms positions raised and lowered, making sure to cover all areas.
🌸 7. Armpit Check: Finally, don't forget to check the area around your armpits for any lumps or swelling.
🌸 8. Repeat Monthly: Repeat these steps months and note any changes or unusual findings. If you discover anything concerning, consult with your healthcare provider.
Share these steps with friends and family to raise awareness. This month let's honor the warriors in pink, who have battled breast cancer with courage and resilience.
