Here at Hope in the Valley, we are grateful to share the implementation of the Hope Labyrinth.
Our Spiritual Advisor, David Herrera, recently began working with Neil and Elise Rudolph from First United Methodist Church in Alamosa on the possibility of bringing a labyrinth to the residents of Hope in the Valley.
A labyrinthโs spiritual meaning centers on it being a metaphor for lifeโs journey. It is a path for prayer, meditation, and self discovery, representing wholeness, challenge, and transformation as one walks from chaos to center and back again. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has one clear path, symbolizing a winding but purposeful journey.
On December 23rd, the Rudolphs came to Hope in the Valley to measure and outline the labyrinth, leaving the construction and implementation to our staff and residents. On December 24th, Christmas Eve, our Spiritual Advisor gathered clients for a blessing of the labyrinth with the hope that it will become a place of meditation, healing, and grounding for years to come.
While the labyrinth is not currently open to the public, we are honored to have this sacred space as part of our campus and our recovery community.
With hope,
Hope in the Valley
