Double Pride

Double Pride is setting new standards and methods for personal and professional cross-cultural empowerment nationwide. We assist mainstream American with revolutionary techniques, helping our Deaf and culturally diverse clients get along better with peopl

Double Pride builds bridges between the hearing and the deaf to mend families and grow communities around the world. Whether training, counseling, speaking or educating our work has one important goal, to bring the deaf and hearing communities together with a common language. Look below to see how DP Counseling, Workshops and Events can best assist you and your family! ⁃ Counseling for adults and couples ⁃ Assistance with stress from home, school, and work ⁃ Intercultural, interracial, immigrant, and international clients ⁃ Gottman's "Seven Principles" for couples ⁃ DP's "Five Generations" approach for the Deaf Community ⁃ Sign language counseling for deaf clients and their families ⁃ "Kodas" (Kids of Deaf Adults) - Under 18 ⁃ "Codas" (Children of Deaf Adults) - Over 18 ⁃ "Godas" (Grandchildren of Deaf Adults) - Any age ⁃ Multi-cultural Deaf, Kodas, Codas, & Godas ⁃ Psycho-educational workshops and events BOTH WORLDS: Handling culturally complex personal, marital, and family issues helps us address our mainstream American clients even more effectively because there are so many ways people can feel caught in the middle or in a tug of war between two of their own “worlds”—even their “world of work” and their “world of home”.

Healthy Climate Alliance

I am working with Warren and Healthy Climate Alliance with the road map to bringing carbon emissions back to pre industrial levels by 2050!! Check out their website

Watch Warren Linney Co-Chair of Climate Restoration Circle, talk about the climate, our efforts for celebrating valentine for mother earth, HCA and the climate restoration networking circles, that we are helping people create all over the world. #HealthyClimateAlliance #ValentineForMotherEarth #ClimateRestoration #MotherEarth

Healthy Climate Alliance

I am thankful to have joined Healthy Climate Alliance org which has 500 Climate Scientists working with the UN and the Vatican with a global road map toward pre industrial levels of carbon emissions by 2050!!

We launched the first Bay Area Climate Restoration Circle two weeks ago to support their efforts on the ground!
Come join our new "Climate Restoration Circle" page to learn more about what we are doing and what you can do to create your own Climate Circles in the USA and around the world.

It is "all hands on deck" if we, Earthlings, can really work together to fix our climate challenges. Earth is in Hospice mode and we only have 5% left of Arctic Circle--HCA knows how to refreeze it wow!

#ValentineForMotherEarth We are making valentine cards for mother earth to create #Climaterestoration awareness! check out this video. We started by joining hands with an artist in Alameda California, Jaying Wang and her wonderful students who made amazing cards to show their LOVE for #motherearth We now encourage you to join the bandwagon and start making cards. You can keep it simple, by making something simple on your phone or a piece of paper. Or you can also go big and make some impressive artwork. But this February show your love for mother earth! and post it online with hashtags #ValentineForMotherEarth and #Climaterestoration. We look forward to seeing all your amazing pictures!
Healthy Climate Alliance is an education, networking, and advocacy program with the goal of restoring the climate. #HealthyClimateAlliance

*What is O.U.R. Children Safety Project - (Observe, Understand, and Respond) Hands & Voices has created a Community of Learners, comprised of parents, family members and professionals, to explore and develop activities that will work to increase the safety and success of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. This welcoming and inclusive community of learners values participation from Hands & Voices leadership including GBYS and ASTra program staff. Through discussion and critical reflection, the group focuses on issues to increase awareness and understanding surrounding prevention of child maltreatment for deaf, hard of hearing and deaf plus children. Together, members of O.U.R. identify and determine action steps that support others in their own communities that serve to observe and respond to instances of abuse, neglect and bullying, as well as cohesively work to enhance policies for prevention within the systems of care serving D/HH children and families.

You will leave with a practical roadmap to get to your targets but also with tools that will help you everyday on your journey towards your dreams to act with confidence and awareness.

Happiness Heroes

love this

In 1969, Mr. Rogers gave the following emotional plea to a Senate Subcommittee. Nixon was trying to cut funding for PBS. Mr. Rogers was trying to save it. This speech is one of many fantastic memories that remind us just how fantastic a happiness hero this man really was.

Somehow using nothing but a few minutes of gentle words, Mr. Rogers was able to convince them not to pull funding from public television. The transition of the committee’s chairman from skeptical and dismissive at the beginning to having an attitude of outright admiration at the end is beautiful to behold. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when kindness and the happiness of others is your goal.

Uncle Bobby (with the hat) was on the #BlackLivesMatter Panel and his nephew was Oscar Grant who was killed at Fruitvale Station in Oakland.

CONGRATS to my dear friend Christy Michaels and her AMAZING TEAM at Unity Church of Marin for a very very successful way to realize Dr. King's Dream for what he called our "Beloved Community" which was Dr. King's answer to solve racism in America.
