Want to fill YOUR Bucket? Fill the buckets of 100s of students at Odyssey Charter School in Altadena by helping us replacing the books lost when their school burned in the recent fires! When we asked the teachers what they needed (remember they lost everything ) they said BOOKS so the students feel comfortable upon returning to school.

Being a Member of Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library has allowed me to participate in activities such as OCOB, and dive deeper into the world of literature! One City, One Book Author’s Talk at the Civic Arts was a Huge Success today! The Henna Artist, shared by author, Alka Joshi today was an outstanding presentation! What a fantastic story of how her career in writing came to be later in life. As Alka Joshi shared, it is never too late to accomplish your dreams and goals. If you haven’t read it now is the time, then read the two follow-up books!

Under Dr. King’s leadership individuals were celebrated, honored, and loved not in spite of their differences, but because of them. His vision for the community was for all to be afforded dignity, respect and the opportunity to realize their full potential. He gave voice to the voiceless, and shines a light on issues that we still continue to address today.
