Job Summary:
The Qualified Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Professional (QIDP/QDDP) is under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director. This person is responsible for the implementation, coordination, integration, and monitoring of active treatment for individuals who reside in a residential group home and those who receive in home service.
Skills:
- Knowledge in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge in the area of supporting individuals with psychiatric diagnosis.
- Knowledge of acceptable social, work, and interpersonal behavior.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics.
- Knowledge of computers and Microsoft software products.
- Knowledge of basic supervision/management principles and practices.
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills
- Ability to observe and assess the needs of individuals.
- Ability to perform basic math functions and maintain financial records.
- Ability to maintain information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to understand and implement positive approaches.
- Ability to create and foster a home environment that operates under the main components of real choices, respect, and the development of meaningful relationships.
- Knowledge and the ability to utilize good listening skills and comprehend verbal instructions given in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English.
- Ability to write legibly in English in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
- Ability to speak clearly and express self effectively in English
Education and Experience Requirements:
-A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least one of year experience in a human services field (including, but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology)
Other requirements:
-Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs.
-Provide on-call services for the program, as needed in rotation with the Director.
-This company requires employees to have a clean background check without any felonies and for the employee to pass a drug screening.
-Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individual to appointments.
-Must be able to drive company vans and accompany individuals into the community and provide support and assistance in interactions in the community while maintaining sensitivity to the rights and dignity of the individual.
