[07/09/16] We had our monthly meeting this afternoon. We are in the process of having more newspapers micro filmed and digitized. We will be updated to 2014 when it is done.

[04/24/16] If we can keep everyone healthy we are planning a meeting, May 14th. 1pm at the Library.
[01/28/16] Due to cold weather in January and February, we will wait until March to have a meeting.
[01/12/16] Monroe County Genealogical Society turns 40 this year. A lot of research has been done and books filled with information. If you have had relatives here, I know you will find them at the Genealogy room!!!

[01/16/15] One of our volunteers has put together a book using the stories we have written over the last 11 years on Albia Notables for the Cemetery Walk. We have sold out of them already! We are looking into getting more of them made.
[01/16/15] Our Jan. 10th meeting we discussed putting a float in the Restoration Days parade and doing a window again for the next Victorian Stroll.
[01/03/15] Next Saturday, January 10th will be our first meeting of 2015 at the Public Library, 1p.m. All visitors are welcome! If you have questions or just curious about genealogy come and sit in with us!

[12/30/14] Our Society meets on the 2nd Saturday of every month. We meet at the public Library at 1pm. The Library is located at 203 Benton Avenue East. The month of January the meeting will be on the 10th. Weather permitting!
