Hi there! I'm Nikki (she/ella)- the founder and owner of Bonne Mori.

I'm an End of Life Navigator and Death Doula, driven by the belief that every one of us deserves a good death.

That's what Bonne Mori means - Good Death.

I believe that by fully embodying our individuality during the last years/months/weeks of life, we are more likely to ease into the profound transition of dying with peace and dignity.

Working with Bonne Mori means bringing clarity to the end-of-life process, along with companionship and support to the individual and their care circle.

I'd love to talk about what your thoughts on death and dying are. I have so many questions! Like - is there anything you're afraid of? What music would like to be listening to? Will your pets be allowed in bed with you? Who is banned from your bedside? Who is assigned to hide the unmentionables if you're in an accident? What do you think happens after death?

What a powerful night of connection and community. 💛

🎉 We raised over $700 to help provide comprehensive, non-medical end-of-life care to those in need.

Last Friday, the New Mexico Deathcare Network gathered at Rio Bravo Brewing Company, LLC for Death over Drafts & Show & Tales

We were honored to have Martie McNabb facilitate Show & Tale: Passed & Present. 12 folks shared a memorial object and the story of a loved one who has died. There were tears, laughter, and so much heart.

❤️ Rio Bravo Brewing donated $1 per beer, and the space.
❤️ Martie donated her talent and time.
❤️ Folks showed up and gave (and ordered beer) generously.

It is a day when we look beyond ourselves and choose to lift up those who have less, those who deserve dignity and care, and those who need a community to wrap around them. Today, I want to introduce you to someone whose life has been touched by that generosity.

Many in Albuquerque know and love Don Schrader, a local legend who has spent decades walking our city barefoot, advocating for simplicity, connection, and compassion. Don has always given freely to others, and today he is sharing his own experience receiving support through the New Mexico Deathcare Network.

Don is working with death doula and NMDN Scribe Jennifer Joyce because of NMDN’s Reimbursement Program. Don lives well below the poverty line and would never have been able to afford death doula care on his own. Thanks to this program, he is receiving the compassionate support he deserves at no cost.

Here are Don’s exact words:

"I highly recommend Jennifer Joyce as a death doula. She has wisdom, compassion and empathy. She has been a caregiver for her mother and her 90-year old grandmother. She has given me advice and rides. She works with experienced death doula, Nikki Neuen (NMDN's President). They both kindly came together on my 80th birthday, last week. They gave me a card, two balloons and two organic fruit and vegetable drinks. YES! I highly recommend Jennifer Joyce as a death doula."
