She’d order a Diet Coke trying not to feel resentful...
But it wasn't about the shake.
It was about what she made it
mean.
That she had no self-control.
She was "ruining her progress."
She'd have to "make up for it."
This time was different.
She realized her kids had been watching.
Watching her say no to things she actually wanted.
Watching her overthink
something that was supposed to be fun.
Watching her make food way more complicated than it needed to be.
And she realized that she wasn't just changing her own relationship with food.
She was setting a new example for her kids.
The question isn’t “Is this food good or bad?”
The question is: What are my kids learning about food from me?
