Sheila and I will be at the Quiet Adventures Symposium this year and am looking forward to seeing everyone! Sadly, I am not bringing paddles. I am bringing other goodies. We have an assortment of kayak Christmas ornaments, round ornaments with Sheila's artwork, flare gun holsters, and other secret stuff. We don't have a bunch, so if you need any of these, come see us early. Or, just say "Hi!". We're in booth L01, directly across from the raffle table. I'm sharing space with "Knittingham Palace"- nice knitted hats & such. Feather is planning to attend the show with us.

100 km north of Toronto is a place known to the Anishinaabe as Mnjikaning - The Fence. The fish weirs at Mnjikaning were first built around 3300 BCE, making them one of the oldest existing structures on Turtle Island. Remnants of Mnjikaning still remain beneath the surface of the water today. The Wendat, who were the keepers of the fence during the early colonial period, call it Turǫtu ("Tree in the water"), a name which was applied to the Toronto area through the error of French settlers in the 17th century.
