Although it may be pain, tightness, or an injury that causes you to seek treatment, there may be other (often overlooked) factors that contribute: a long forgotten injury, a damaging habit or posture, lack of balance or harmony in body systems, or simply inefficient movement during day to day activities. Treatment is not focused on pain and inability, but on efficiency and potential. An assessment and plan of treatment is developed within the vision that every individual has untapped existing potential; goals are not focused on restoration of “normal” function, but on achieving “optimal” function.

LA Times just reported on a randomized control trial that found no difference in opioids (hydrocodone, etc) compared to over the counter medication with regards to pain related function over the span of 12 months.
Yet some report opioids claim 115 American lives on average every day.

In defining any movement dysfunction, you must define the problem in light of its interaction with the rest of the body.
Knee pain (particularly on the inside aspect), hip pain, and back pain are very often a result of the lack of engagement of foot/ankle stabilizers.
This is a picture of a patient who’s problem was solved not by orthotics, but by training and manual treatment. YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM, how you use your body may be the problem.
