Jeff’s Health Journey

Jeff’s Health Journey Wondering what Jeff went through in the hospital with Covid-19, this is his story. He asked me to write it. He approved it. He doesn’t remember it. I certainly do.

I went through my messages for the details. Covid-19 is serious.

After three years, I finally picked up a bowling ball. It was a little exhausting, but I managed to get through one game. Not too bad.

Happy New Year everyone. Sorry this is a late post. Barb and I have been a little under the weather to bring in the new year. I am much better and Barb is getting there slowly. Thursday, I go to Penn Med in Philly for a second opinion on my windpipe. Maybe I will have better options. Maybe things will be the same. It’s worth going for peace of mind. My blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels have been pretty good lately. 🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I am still seeing a number of different doctors with more time in between appointments. Best thing is that I am here! May 2023 bless all of you with health and happiness.

Looks like I am stuck here for the night. Getting some steroids and antibiotics for my airway. Better safe than sorry!

Surgery went well. Hanging around to make sure my airway doesn’t start closing. Waiting for pain meds. So far so good! Thank you all!!❤️

Well here I am again. Gall bladder surgery. Apparently, when my gall bladder acts ups, the pain causes my blood pressure to soar. Test showed that it is working slowly and needs to come out. It could be from the Covid since it attacked my other organs. It could be heredity since I have family members with gall bladder issues. It could just be a common old age thing. It could be a combination of everything. No one knows. Will give an update soon. Send some prayers for me and my airway please.

Yesterday, I went to see and visit with the nursing staff, therapists, and everyone else at Good Shepherd Rehab. Since I was released from there to come home one year ago, I wanted to stop by and thank them and let them know that they are very appreciated.

One year ago, on this day, I left the hospital after my long ordeal. If not for my caring wife, Barb, and her stubbornness to not give up on me, I would not be able to make this post. I would also like to thank, LVHN Cedar Crest 2K South, Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital, and Good Shepherd Rehab Hospital for dedication and support throughout my journey. Family and friends, who followed my progress, I also thank you for being there to support Barb. My quality of life may not ever be the same as it was, but every day is a blessing.

Hard to believe….

Stopped by to visit the staff at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital and let them know that they are appreciated. April 2nd is a year since I was discharged from this hospital. This was the place that really started my recovery. Troy (PT), Bonnie (OT), and all the staff thank you!!!!!
