EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH NOMINATION
NAME OF NOMINEE: Elizabeth “Liz” “Lizard” Williams
DEPARTMENT: Dietary
YEARS EMPLOYED: 16 months
POSITION OF NOMINEE: Dietary Cook
1) ATTITUDE/CHARACTER:
Liz is always willing to help others- She is dedicated and reliable. When she
arrives at work, she is ready to work and is someone we can all count on to show up and give her best. Liz has a very fun-loving personality and brings a lot of joy, laughter, and a bit of orneriness to The Heritage Home. The residents and staff love to give Liz a hard time and she dishes it right back. Liz takes a lot of pride in her work and is very loyal. She is constantly striving for perfection and places a lot of emphasis on doing things correctly and efficiently. She stays up to date on required policy reviews and attends in-services.
2) CONCERN FOR OTHERS/COMPASSION/SERVANT HEART:
Liz is thoughtful in her actions and pays attention to details. She is very
organized and timely and ensures that the HH kids, Seniors, and staff are all served hot, delicious meals according to their preference ON-TIME which is no easy feat when serving over 70 people. She knows each resident and their preferences and can typically anticipate their dietary needs/requests.
3) YEARS OF SERVICE/DEDICATION:
Liz started with us early on- she left for a short time and returned to us in January 2025 in a full-time capacity. Her dedication to her job is unmatched.
I’d also like to note that she was an employee at The Alma Manor upon its
closing- She reports that she “closed the kitchen up” on their last day in business. When The Heritage Home took over, the kitchen was the cleanest place in the facility. She knew The Alma Manor was closing, yet she did her
part and closed the kitchen down with pride!
Liz has many years of experience working in food service and has had to adapt her routines to promote resident centered care, and although change can be challenging, she has been willing and is committed to loving and serving our
Heritage Home family according to our mission.
4) ENHANCES WORKPLACE AND LIVES OF OTHERS:
Liz tries really hard to make the dining experience an enjoyable one. In the
mornings she can be seen conversing with the residents all while preparing a made to order breakfast for all residents. Although Liz works in dietary, she doesn’t just worry about the resident and kids dietary needs or food order: she gets to know them as a person and treats them with the dignity, respect, and
compassion they deserve.
Liz was nominated by two different residents for Employee of the Month which is a testament to the appreciation and love the residents have for her and all that she does for them.
5) EXHIBITS INITIATIVE/ENTHUSIASM BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY:
Liz cares deeply for each child, resident, and staff member and shows this
through her pride in her work and checking in to see how people are doing daily. You will consistently hear the 90s country and classic rock music and see Liz, with her faithful smile, bustling about the kitchen.
