Charis Counseling is the private professional counseling practice of Rachel Achatz, LPC.

Her primary counseling focus is helping couples, families, and co-parents improve their relationships and find the peace, joy, and hope God wants for every person. Charis Counseling Services of NEMI is the professional counseling practice of Rachel Achatz, LPC NCC. She is passionate about facilitating growth in people and helping clients experience the hope, peace, and joy that God desires for them. Rachel primarily provides couples counseling, family counseling, and co-parenting counseling services at this time. However, she also enjoys working with adolescents age 15+ and adults on an individual basis when she has the availability. Many of her clients struggle with coping with life transitions and stressors including relationship issues, the loss of a loved one, divorce, and work stress. Additionally, some clients also face mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and traumatic stress. Rachel has moved into her new Charis office location at The Center Building! The new address is 109 N Second Ave Ste L8 Alpena, MI 49707. Also, be on the lookout for Oakley, the therapy dog, walking around downtown. He participates in sessions with clients unless client's request otherwise. Feel free to pet him if you see him!

As a compassionate, competent, and Christian professional, I want each person to experience the highest quality of affordable counseling, support services, and access to community resources. I offer services to all people regardless of age, color, culture, disability, ethnicity, national origin, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, or socioeconomic status.
