No cook, easy lunch for hot 🥵 days. Meijer Pre-cooked Chicken + bagged salad. 🥗 So easy. Much better for you than fast food. Protien + veggies= WIN! 🙌 Grab the cooked chicken pieces from Meijer. I like these lime/onion/garlic ones. Up by the deli doors, sold cold. Grab a bagged salad. I timed myself from car to return: walked in, grabbed the items, self check out, and back to the car 🚘 in 8 minutes. Boom 💥 You’d wait longer in line at a drive thru. So just do this! I got 4 salads worth out of this pound of pre-cooked chicken! Your body will thank you! 🥰

Wowwwww! 🤩 This podcast was SO GOood! So many aha moments.💡 Tons of information tidbits and statistics that blew. My. Mind. 🤯 One of the biggest ones was how strength training is proven to build new neuropathways in the brain, 🧠 creating grater neuro plasticity helps prevent dementia. Wow. It is longer so I broke it into two walking sessions. Listening to podcasts while I walk my dog is my favorite “me time” activity! It also busts a TON of myths for male versus female weight loss and workouts etc. SO DAMN GOOD!!! 😊 I’m actually going to listen to it a second time!

To combat retaining water- the real answer is to drink MORE water 💦 ! That will help you to flush and get your body to stop retaining water caused by this hot weather! Also- pro tip- don’t weigh yourself Monday or Tuesday! Lol 😂 Water weighs ALOT! These super hot days often mean extra water and extra weight! Wait until Thursday! 😀 You’re welcome!

Mindset 🧠 Monday! Start where you are. It doesn’t matter what day or what time. But if you wait until “life slows down” or January 1 or etc etc etc, you’ll just be older and further down the road. Start now, start small! You don’t NEED fancy tools or containers. 🙂‍↔️ You need real food and a fresh mindset. You are buying food anyhow, might as well make it fresh foods! 🥗 🥝🍓🫐🍉🍆🥬🥑🫒🥙🌮🍲🍱

Summer = salads 🥗 for so many people! Remember to build your salad starting with the good stuff! Then add your protein! Then very last add your lettuce! 🥬 This ensures that you get more of the good stuff, (generally far more nutritious than lettuce) and find your salad more satisfying! Here is an example from a couple weeks ago. I chopped all of my veggies first. Carrots 🥕 peppers 🫑 celery, tomato 🍅, and cucumber 🥒. Mixed them up. Then added Real Good chicken 🍗 tenders I did in the air fryer. Then the dressing. Then lastly, lettuce. Mix it up and bingo. Delicious!

Many of my clients and people I know in general are always searching for healthIER sweet 🍨🧁🍩🍭🍰 treats! This one fits that need quite well and it’s great for summer! ☀️ I don’t think the chocolate on top is needed, but that’s up to the chef (you)! I also use PB2 in here in place of the peanut butter. I love pb2 in general! Enjoy!

Five 5️⃣ tips from a Certified Nutritionist that loves to party and loves food- to make your Holiday 🇺🇸 weekend healthIER!
1️⃣ cut up HEALTHIER snacks and have them ready to put out at any time. Get that veggie tray or fruit 🍎 and cheese 🧀 tray ready ahead of time. Or when you get to your cottage/campsite today! Crack a brew 🍺 , and chop stuff up! Nothing more relaxing to me than that! 2️⃣ Have less of the cream cheese/mayo/sour cream based dips and more fruit and veggies. 🥕 Don’t deprive yourself of dips and indulgent items- just try to limit them! Life is about celebrating and friends and fun 🤩 , but you don’t want to feel like 💩!3️⃣ Use veggies as dippers into dips versus crackers. That way you are getting veggies 🥦 in! 4️⃣ Take a walk! 🚶‍♀️ This gloomy weekend weather won’t have people boating etc as much, but make sure you grab a friend and take a walk at least 2 of the 4 days! Great way to chat, check out the area, and get your exercise in 😄 5️⃣ HYDRATE! Drink 8 oz water 💦 between each beer/mixed drink/ glass of wine. I know you’re drinking wine 🍷 out of solo cups or rum and coke out of a Stanley this weekend- so be sure to drink water 💧 between refills my friends! So ideally: drink a drink 🍹, then the water, then grab friend and get your walk to the bathrooms in! Repeat! 😜🤣 Please share ANY and all photos of you do with these 5 tips! Sharing helps everyone. You are never “too old” to get healthier!!! 😍This is my mom and she is ok with me sharing:) Three years ago she was on three diabetes medications PLUS Blood pressure med 💊 AND cholesterol med too. One day she had enough. She said “I don’t feel good, I have to do something.” She started walking 3 or 4 days a week, and built up her distance. She also took control of her nutrition through watching portion sizes. She started attending a local accountability group. She switched out her coffee creamer for pure protein. She stopped eating out so much. She moved more. Last year she did her first 5k. 🏃🏼‍♀️ Then another. This year at 68 years old, she took THIRD in her age division (she wasn’t trying to place)- but how amazing is this?!?? 🤩 No shots 💉, no special diet, no magic pills, no pink drink, no shakes. No logging even! 🙃 Real food, real walking. She is now only on a cholesterol med, very low dose. It’s NEVER too late, and I’m happy to help anyone at any age! 👏 My daughter placed 5th- and she’s proof that it’s never too YOUNG to encourage your kids to exercise more also! 😍

Non-negotiables in life look like this. 🙌 500 days of closing your move ring. No matter if you get sick, or have a super random condition that sends stabbing pains through your face. 😖. You move your body. Some way some how! It may be through stretching 🙆‍♀️ , yoga 🧘 , walking 🚶‍♀️ , swimming 🏊🏼‍♀️ , fishing 🎣 , kayaking, hiking, 🥾, running 🏃🏼‍♀️ or whatever- but our bodies were made to MOVE! How are you moving this weekend friends?
