Alpena area people! 🚶‍♀️ The walking track at Northern Lights Arena (the hockey 🏒 rink) is back open! 👏 I love to walk the track on rainy or cold days, or in between errands. I was the only one there at 12pm today!! Grab a friend, or your headphones 🎧 and walk on your lunch hour, after work, or while kids are at sports. We are lucky to have this spot to walk. Wear a coat, and light gloves, it’s an ice rink 😉. The walking track is flat, not slippery, and easy to walk or run on! Our bodies are made to move. You don’t need to sweat, spend a bunch of cash, do a program, or commit to a time slot. Just move, when you can, how you can! ❤️

High fiber, low calorie, and SUPER delicious soup! 🥣 Copycat Olive Garden Pasta e Fagole. 🤤 I made this tonight and traded the beef out for lamb 🐑, and doubled the carrots🥕. This. All of this. WOW!! SUCH a great read! 😍So inspiring. 🙌 I watched the video of her as well. Too old to start? Too old to change your habits? Never! Mind over matter. Give it a read and tell me what you think! 🤯 The miles!! Like what in the?! At 80!

She didn’t start running until her 40s.

Didn’t learn to swim until her late 50s.

Now she’s an Ironman World Championship finisher at 80 years old.

Egg Roll in a Bowl is a fast, delicious, flavor packed, low calorie, high protein dinner! 🙌 RECIPE: I use one pound ground chicken, and one pound of pork sausage. Fry them up and chop with Pchef mix n chop. Med-high heat takes about 8 minutes. Add two cloves of garlic 🧄 , pressed. Add two 2️⃣ bags of Cole slaw mix. I used one bag of super food slaw today. Add in 1/4 c low sodium soy sauce and 2 T honey 🍯. Mix very well. Put the top on the pan. Cook 3 minutes on medium heat. Mix well, cook 2 more minutes and shut off. Great with rice, cauliflower rice, or by itself! EASY!

Move your body however YOU like to! 👏 Love walking outside? do it! Hate running? Don’t do it! 🙂‍↔️ Love lifting weights? 🏋️‍♀️ Do it! Hate jumpy bouncy cardio? 👎 Don’t do it. It’s that simple. Exercise releases dopamine in your brain 🧠 , making you happier- as long as you are enjoying the activity. 😉Try different ways to move, I guarantee you WILL find something you enjoy! Move your body however you want to, our bodies are made to move! Oh AND, you don’t need to exercise in the morning- it can be ANYTIME, just do it. 😍

🤩 I had the enjoyment of presenting for Alpena Power Company today, about nutrition and wellness! 🤩 I cooked a protein packed breakfast for 32 employees, then presented as they ate. We talked about fueling our bodies, getting enough protein, easy meal prep ideas, smart swaps for sweets, and more! 👏 The staff had a lot of great questions, and I had a blast! As you can see by the photos, there were some pretty funny moments and questions too! A lot of the guys were relieved to hear that more meat is the answer. They didn’t seem to love my take on energy drinks 😝🫣🤣. They were a great crowd! Today’s menu was: Greek yogurt parfaits, meat lovers omelette 🥓 , Greek veggie omelette 🫑 , pico de gallo for topping, and a huge bowl of fresh fruit🍉🍈🍇! The employees each got a handout with nutrition ideas, recipes, and ways to keep their bodies fueled up! ⬆️ If your office would like a nutrition presentation or a presentation with a catered meal, please message me. I have breakfast, lunch, and dinner options! 🥳 I’m booking for November, December, and January now! 🙌

The kids are back in school, fall is around the corner, and routine is being restored. What a perfect time to look at your health and nutrition! Make the appointment today. I had a client in my office today, and we were talking about ways to get more protein and vegetables into her daily nutrition, as well as the fact that it is SOUP SEASON! Yup- it has arrived early, but soup is really a great way to get veggies into your body!
Try this Taco Soup!
2 lbs lean hamburger, turkey burger, ground chicken, or venison
1 packet of taco seasoning ( I use Pampered Chef Southwest seasoning with chili lime rub)
1 can of corn
1 can of black beans
1 onion
2 cloves fresh garlic
2 cans of rotel tomatoes
2 cans of beef broth
1./2 brick of 1/3 less fat cream cheese
1 bag of fritos
1 brick of co-jack cheese-shredded

ROCKCROCK INSTRUCTIONS for the Microwave: It is SO FREAKING GOOD!
1. On cutting board, cut the ends off of the onion. Once peeled, place wedges into the Manual Food Processor. Process until finely chopped. Dump into Dutch Oven Rock Crock.
2. In RockCrock, place burger in. Press in two cloves of garlic using the Garlic Press. You can leave the skin right on the garlic when using the press!
3. Empty taco seasoning packet onto burger as well. Place burger and onion mixture into microwave for 5 minutes. Remove using Red Silicon Oven Mitts. Set on stove top or hot pad and break burger into fine pieces using our number one selling Mix-n-chop! Place burger back into the microwave for 4-6 more minutes, until cooked through. When cooked, remove burger from Dutch Oven using the Mini scoop n-drain. Place burger into small Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl. Pour grease into separate bowl to dispose of.
4. Open cream cheese and SET ASIDE. DO NOT include this in your other mixture. You will want to melt this into the RockCrock as soon as its out of microwave.
5. Using Smooth Edge Can Opener, open the cans of tomatoes. If you need a demonstration, please ask Jess! The can opener is one of our top sellers, and goes around the TOP of a can. Open Can of Corn and dump into Stainless Bowl. Open both cans of Tomatoes, dump into bowl, again NOT drained.
6. Open Can of Black Beans, and take over to the sink. Pour the can of beans into the Easy read measuring colander and rinse with water. Pour into bowl.
7. Open and empty the 2 cans of beef broth into the bowl as well.
8. When Dutch Oven Rock Crock is emptied, melt the cream cheese into the DORC in the microwave for 45 seconds. Then, Pour all contents of the Large Stainless Mixing bowl in. The Dutch Oven may be hot, so use the mitts. Using Mix N Scraper, stir all ingredients, try to somewhat whisk the Cream cheese and mix it in. Microwave for 7 minutes.
9. Add in drained burger. Mix well and top individual bowls with whatever toppings you enjoy!

Electric Pressure Cooker Instructions: (instapot) or Pampered Chef Quick Cooker: QUICK COOKER (pressure cooker) DIRECTIONS:
1) get ingredients all out. Turn QC to sear. Add burger and garlic. Cook about 6 minutes, chopping with mix n chop.
2) cancel sear. Add in everything except cheese and heavy cream. Cook on custom for minutes. While it’s cooking, grate your cheese.
3) once done, do a quick release. Add in heavy cream or 1/2 brick cream cheese and stir. Serve in bowls and top each bowl with grated cheese! (And Fritos or tortilla chips if you’d like)!

😃 So it’s back to school time for the kiddos, and we are getting them new shoes, 👟 right? Are you getting YOURSELF new shoes? You may need to! 🙌 Did you know you should replace your tennis shoes every 300-500 miles? Don’t worry, I read the article and did the math 🧮 for you! If you get 5,000 steps per day, that is 2.5 miles per day. 500 miles divided by 2.5 miles a day = 200 days. So new tennis shoes every 200 days or roughly 6 months. Your shoes 👞 support your entire body!!! They are so important! You need good, supportive shoes! Good shoes help your ankles, knees, hips, and back. Yes, science says you NEED new shoes every 6 months. You’re welcome. 😉
