The political noise is coming to an end...let's back on track! Monday November 11th, Veterans Day! Dauntless Strength and Athletics will be conducting a Hero workout called "Zachary Tellier" 9 am monday morning! All are welcome, please contact us ASAP if you would like to participate!

The time has come to put all my effort into full time Personal Training! So if you are in need of training, or have wanted to train with me but couldn't find the time, I will now be able to accommodate to your schedule!

The RICE method, though widely used, has become outdated and is often misapplied. Initially developed to address severe injuries, its blanket application for every minor ache and pain is no longer considered best practice. Let's examine why RICE is not always the safest or most effective approach. R, representing Rest, is now recognized as counterproductive; movement, not stagnation, promotes healing and blood flow. Instead of resting, engaging in low-impact activities like walking or swimming is recommended. Ice, too, has its limitations, as it can impede the natural healing process by reducing inflammation, which is essential for recovery. Compression remains a valuable technique, while Elevation has shown minimal benefits. A superior alternative is the LOVE method: Load, Optimization, Vascularization, and Exercise. This holistic approach addresses chronic injuries by focusing on targeted training, strength building, and flexibility improvement. For athletes plagued by recurring issues, understanding the root cause and implementing preventative measures is crucial. Effective coaching involves more than sport-specific knowledge; it requires athlete care and attention to movement patterns. The LOVE method offers a proactive solution, emphasizing physical preparation through off-season training to prevent injuries. At Farabaugh Fitness, we specialize in preparing athletes for the physical demands of their sport, and we welcome clients seeking improved fitness and well-being.

The weight cut begins.....i spent the spring and summer getting strong and added some weight on purpose. I wanted to see how close I could get to 200lbs and still keep my conditioning..well I achieved 195 and have decided the last 5 isn't worth it..although I got stronger and the conditioning didn't diminish much, my body doesn't seem to move as easy as did when I was 175. I feel heavy on my feet and rhe joints started to hurt..so 195 was achieved and the ride was fun...but 175 is my happy place....
Weight loss and weight gain isn't complicated, bit it does require sacrice, discipline and work. You don't need sauna work like this..I do it because I actually enjoy it...the way to loss these pounds is to simply control my calorie intake with my calorie burn...I need to burn more than I consume but not so drastically that I eat away hard earned lean mass...my protein will stay high (175ish) and my calories will hover around 2300 calories a day..that's it...that's all I track...don't make it complicated, make is disciplined

Another SAQ session in the books! SAQ is an important component of life..the training principle of use or loose is real. If we don't work speed, agility, and quickness, we will loose the ability to do it. Without it, our "emergency" response becomes voided..we need to be ready and prepared for life! Interested?!
