What is Sculptra??? 🤔

Sculptra utilizes poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate collagen production in the deep layers of the skin.

🧬 Collagen is a protein that provides structure and elasticity to the skin, and as we age, collagen production declines, leading to sagging and wrinkles.

Sculptra can be used to address various areas of the face, including the lower face, jawline, and areas with sagging skin or wrinkles, like smile lines and marionette lines. It’s also used to restore volume in areas like the temples and under the eyes.

What is success to me?

Success for me is waking up to a patient telling me that she was able to lower her hemoglobin A1c.

There are so many times that I go into my home health risk assessment and I speak to patients that have diabetes and one of the questions that I ask is “do you know your hemoglobin A1c”

I am astounded by the amount of people that:

A. Have absolutely no clue what I am asking they have not any inclination what hemoglobin A1c means.

B. They don’t know their hemoglobin A1c, even if they do know what it means.

A lot of my time is spent educating this patients on how it is so important for them to monitor their blood sugar. Follow up with their doctors appointments for various reasons, including eye health, overall vascular health and cardiac health to ensure that even though they have this disease process, it is very well managed in a proper way.

So success for me is when I have a patient come into my practice, come into my salon and not only do they want to decrease their overall BMI they are wanting to improve their overall health.

I hear so many stories in regards to GLP-1 medications and the damage that are being done by different people that are taking them. Is definitely a stigma that the society has prided themselves on in the fact that they focus on the negative instead of the positive. And most of the time it is people that have absolutely no medical knowledge of the overall good that can come from these medications in assisting and decreasing other possibilities of chronic illnesses That can potentially be terminal. Most people do not die of diabetes they die from complications from diabetes.

So if you know somebody that has diabetes, is a prediabetic, has issues from ongoing diabetes, and has tried multiple things, including diet, exercise medication’s, and are unable to get their hemoglobin A1c down however, our “scared” of taking these GLP-1 my response to that is they are not well educated, and they are not informed that with proper management follow up they can use these medication’s to improve their overall lifestyle.
