🌿 This sweet family was my very first repeat family — such a special milestone for me.

They welcomed a beautiful baby boy at home, born peacefully in water and caught by daddy... just like big sister.

There is something incredibly meaningful about walking with a family through more than one birth. What an honor to be invited back into their story.

First-time mama labored beautifully with the steady support of her husband and doula by her side.

I truly love when families are supported by doulas. They are such a valuable asset to the birth team, providing continuous encouragement, comfort, and advocacy that allows parents to feel safe and supported every step of the way.

It was an honor to witness this family step into parenthood together. ✨

While allowing birth to unfold naturally can help reduce the risk of tearing, continued learning and practice is an important part of providing safe, thoughtful care. My goal is for families to feel confident knowing I’m prepared and skilled when repair is needed.

In an area where co-management is uncommon, I was grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside Maternal–Fetal Medicine to prioritize safety for this family. A beautiful reminder of what collaborative care can do 🤍

This first-time mama approached birth with intention— training her mind to view pain as a temporary, passing sensation, and supporting her body with yoga. She labored beautifully in the comfort of her own home. In the final moments, dad joined her in the birth pool, and together they welcomed their baby—born gently into mama’s own hands. An incredibly empowering homebirth.

🏡 Home-Away-From-Home Birth 🏡

Because they live out of town and didn’t feel comfortable with the closest “just in case” hospital, these first time parents made plans ahead of time to come to Amarillo for birth. Once labor began, they settled into a cozy rental.

Early labor lingered for nearly two days before active labor picked up and baby made her arrival just over 12 hours later. This mama was so calm, prepared, and determined — she did absolutely amazing!

Baby brothers, make the best surprises

Mama labored beautifully, and once her doula arrived, she called to say things might be further along than expected — and she was right! This little one was born with a caul — a thin veil of the amniotic sac still covering his head, something that happens in roughly 1 in 1,000 births. He arrived gently and safely, straight into his daddy’s hands.✨

✨ Strength. Trust. Grace. ✨

This first-time mama spent much of her pregnancy working through moments of self-doubt. At so many of our visits, we talked about what it means to trust the process—that my job was to keep her and her baby safe, and her job was to prepare her mind and body for birth… to believe in her own strength, and to know that when labor came, she would be surrounded by people who loved her deeply.

In the quiet hours of the morning, her water broke— before contractions even began. Fewer than twelve hours later, she brought her baby earthside in the comfort of her own living room. She was so calm and graceful, I could hardly tell that she was pushing—only three minutes later, she smiled and said, “She’s here!” as she lifted her baby to the surface of the birth pool. 💕

What an incredible reminder of the quiet power and beauty behind every birth.
