MITAN Industries was founded to provide safe, effective solutions for alternative sanitation in ANY setting where a proper toilet isn't available.
Adequate sanitation is one of the first steps of self-reliance: health. Exposure to raw waste and contaminated water makes people sick; sick people can't work or care for themselves or their families; people who have to rely on others to survive often live in conditions where they're exposed to raw waste and/or contaminated water; exposure to raw waste and contaminated water makes people sick; and the cycle begins again. Access to adequate sanitation is a major factor in reducing the spread of disease and improving standards of living. Every day, more than 2.6 billion people in the world live in conditions without access to a proper toilet. Add to that the tens of millions of people every year who are affected by natural disasters when sanitation facilities are damaged or destroyed. People get sick, standards of living drop, and economic development/recovery slows. Individuals, families, and communities suffer. This is a problem too big to be ignored. There's nothing appealing about human waste, but we're determined to deal with it—safely, effectively, and in an earth-friendly way. That's why we provide solutions for alternative sanitation for any setting where a proper toilet isn't available.
